Golden shining and soft feeling in the mouth - perfectly balanced taste - full body and heart warming, a splendid aroma, tickling in the nose - hoppy dry long finish.

33 cl bottle. Pale hazy translucent gold, with a medium quick-diminishing head...intriguing buttermint nose develops a sweet spiciness, nutmeg-pepper-alcohol...soft, highly carbonated mouthfeel, fairly boring flavor overall...light lemon-spiciness, ok, quaffable, but the moderate sweetness, moderate sourness leaves me with...dullness.

Bottle. Hazy pale golden color with slim, but lasting white head. Great aroma; perfumy, spicey and fruity. Nice taste; spicy and well balanced. Long hoppy finish. Quite highly carbonated, with a nice full bodied foamy mouthfeel. Very good indeed.

Cloudy soft yellow. Moderate white head drops to a skiff as you watch. Yeasty green apple aroma. Dusty baking soda, yeast and apple flavours.

Cloudy and yellow with a citrusy aroma that can only be a Belgian style. Noticable alcohol content, almost wine-like. Dry and fruity with a hint of spice.

UPDATED: JAN 11, 2008 (Bottled, 1.5l) Hazy yellow-golden with a pretty large, tight and lasting head. Slightly tart and cidery aroma with pale malts, cork, and some vanilla. Sweetish, pale-malty flavor with ginger, some toffee notes, mildly acidic tartness and fruity, smooth alcohol. Some grassy-lemony hops, too - but a long, dry finish is an overstatement. Medium-bodied, lightly alcoholic palate with somewhat foamy carbonation. A paler, lighter, sweeter, and less fruity version of Augustijn. (Bottled, labeled "Buccaneer Old Reserve", rated 12/16/2004, BBE 08/2006, was 5-3-6-3-12=2.9) Very hazy, pale yellow color with a large, foamy head. Quite subtle aroma, slightly earthy, cardboardy and sour. Somewhat fruity, but also cardboardy flavor. Slightly sweet. Medium-bodied, quite carbonated palate. Hides the alcohol reasonably well, although it’s definitely noticeable. Surprisingly dull and uninteresting beer - or a bad bottle. (Labeled "Bornem Triple" on 11/25/2003 6-4-5-4-14=3.3: Foggy, straw-coloured tripel with lasting head. Fruits, yeast and alcohol in the aroma. Subtle, soft, perhaps a bit characterless taste. Extremely high on CO2 (from which most of the aftertaste originates). The heavy carbonization seems to hide most of the alcohol.)

Brewed for the town Damme. Bottle from 1997. Slightly hazy golden coloured. Fruity aroma. Very sweet flavour with lots of mature fruitiness and some raisins.

I became very dissapointed. I enjoy Bornem Dubbel very much, so I thought that their Trippel would be great as well. But no... Faint aroma and not very complex taste. It tastes a little hoppy and very alcoholic. I had it on draught.

Pours a hazy gold colour with a medium head. Sour citrus and spice aroma. Spicy, yeasty, malt and light spice taste. Ok but not special

Frothy and fluffy head with a tinted gold color. A bit of rotten fruit in the aroma. A sour flavor of apple and grape and a tiny share of banana. Dry finish like it says with a acidic overtone.

Did not find the alcohol overwhelming but nicely warming on the coldest day so far. Does not have the head it’s brother does.
