badgerben (3587), Blaine, Minnesota, USA Jun 25, 2004 Gold color with a medium head. Aroma and taste abound with spice, yeast, and alcohol. It’s not bad, but you can do much better. robertsreality (2460), Minnesota, USA Jun 25, 2004 Cloudy Gold Coloring. White Head...find something to do while the head is slowly disapating.... Yeast. Sweet. Not bad but pretty average. mustang3 (254), Whitby, Canada Jun 17, 2004 The beer starts with a fluffy white head that is remarkably persistent. The appeaance is incredibly pale. I found the alcohol just dominated this beer from start to finish. It’s not bad, but there are better triples around. Nose and flavour I got yeast with some grape notes. First beer I’ve ever had that went down with the "burn" usually associated with spirits. NO effort to hide the alcohol and it winds up as the predominant flavour. SledgeJr (2957), Omaha, Nebraska, USA May 31, 2004 In the bottle. Pours an amazing white color. Gargantuan white foamy head. Is this champagne? Delightful fruity aroma. Rich thick body- this is packing some alcohol alright. The fruit is a pronounced lemon grapefruity taste. Tart and yet very balanced in its flavor. This is one mighty delicious beer. Quite a bit of spent yeast in the bottom which I captured in hopes of cloning my own batch. FROTHINGSLOSH (1965), GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA May 12, 2004 Updated: Aug 12, 2007I have had this one a couple of times over the years. Sampled from an 11.2 oz brown bottle this beer pours a cloudy light golden color with a medium sized white head and lots of floaters. The aroma is sour and has a light citrus element. The flavor is sweet, tangy, citrusy, and has a bread like yeastiness. There is a sour, bitter aftertaste. No real spice presence for a triple. Acceptable but not remarkable. Relatively disappointing given the regard I have for their double. willblake (2160), Belcamp, Maryland, USA May 9, 2004 330mL Bottle, 05.09.04 Pours pale, clouded yellow - reminds of the color of cooked pear flesh. Smallish head fades very slowly to a halo. Aromas are winey, farmer’s market fruit aisle, white grape juice. Is this beer or wine? Is it spoilt? Flavors are initially a burst of fresh apple cider; tingly champagne-like palate, but full bodied. Finishes with buttery (oak?) vanilla and chardonay notes. Other than winey qualities, not much alcohol presence. JCapriotti (1378), Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA May 8, 2004 Surprising light yellow color, clear, with a large white head. Aroma is prediminently apple, also a bit melon-like with some pear and medicinal properties. I suppose its simple, but I like it. The beer is way to fizzy though. It seems to keep on foaming up as I swallow which is a bit weird feeling. Flavor is a bit off like yeasty medicine with some apple stuff. Its not entirely bad, just don’t like the bubbliness and the yeasty flavor. Sammy (3934), Toronto, Ontario, Canada May 5, 2004 Was very sippable by us. Tasted like a fine wine, with sour fruit on the tongue. Would definately have again with firneds to gauge their reaction. Not smooth but quite unique.. Very nice before dinner despite high alcohol.
