heavy (815), Split, Croatia Nov 27, 2008 02/11 0.33 l bottle @ Hopdevil, Zagreb. It poured hazy golden body with medium sized head. Some yeast fruitiness like apple and orange in aroma. Slightly winy as well. Fine yeasty flavor, more sweet than bitter, with orange, cookies, vanilla and raisins being most prominent. Thinner in body for the style, but one must admit alcohol is greatly hidden here. Shorter, but pleasantly sweet finish. Fine beer, but a bit industrial and cheapish. terrybail (331), London, Ontario, Canada Nov 18, 2008 330ml bottle from the LCBO as part of a Belgian Ale Sampler Pack
The aroma is sweet and chocolaty vanilla
Pours a light golden amber with a small white head
The taste is creamy and sweet slight alcohol after taste but not too much the finish is very dry
Pretty good overall Derek881 (489), Frederick, Maryland, USA Nov 1, 2008 Poured from the bottle into a trappist glass to drink. The beer had a citrus and grainy-earthy hops aroma, with a sweet candy effect and maybe some yeast and barley too. A fairly standard amber-orange color with a thin, bubbly head that was slightly short-lived. Taste is sweet and candy-like, only a touch of bitterness. A thinner, lighter feel, without much effect on the palate; low-average carbonation. Pretty good beer, but not spectacular. Wim (1278), Turnhout, Belgium Oct 31, 2008 pour gold blond sparkling body with a sparkling big white head a spicy hoppy aroma a spicy hoppy fruity taste with a alcholic bitter finih illkarate (89), Bloomington, Indiana, USA Oct 29, 2008 330ml. Pours a light orange/golden color with a minimal head. If I was going to describe this in one word, it would be caramel. It’s right in the front and tends to overshadow the other flavors (grass, fruits, raisins). Overall, pretty watered down, but still a decent brew. Not your typical triple. EHopper (274), Minnesota, USA Oct 28, 2008 Part of a variety pack. This is an amazing beer to me. How can something have so little flavor. It is like drinking the lightest beer, except with bad aftertaste. Easy to drink, and drink, even with the relatively high alcohol. This would be good to serve to friends who have never tried this type of beer and are just ’’putting their toe in the water.’’ cking (1012), North Canton, Ohio, USA Oct 27, 2008 Aroma of mixed fermented fruits such as pears, bananas, and oranges. Rather earthy with a musty quality. Cloudy, golden-orange color, huge rocky head, and heavy lacing. Airy, sweet mouthfeel lending to a light creaminess. This is one of the easiest drinking Tripels I can recall. Sweet and yeasty flavors along with a nice vibrant fruitiness. Does come across as a tad watered down. Grassy with a fading/faint bitterness. Bungalo22 (326), Bridgeport, Connecticut, USA Oct 5, 2008 Poured from the bottle into a snifter. Pours a light, see through yellow color with a big cloudy head. A pretty decent looking tripel. The taste has some citrus - lemon to me - and the alcohol shines through. It finished sweet but very smooth.
