bottle shared by anand- thanks a TON! a dry, bready, brown sugar and maple herbal nose. nose overly sweet, dusty, and dried plums. better than the vast majority of american tripels, as it isn’t cloyingly sweet. nice herbal doughy bread essence to the candied sweetness. good, not great.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 BeerandBlues2 (5594) - Baltimore, Maryland, USA - OCT 29, 2010
Bottle. Pours lightly hazy gold with a large, rocky and frothy white head, long retention with excellent lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (straw, cereal, biscuit), light hops (spicy), and average esters (fruity) with notes of dust, ginger, black pepper, and sulfur-pineapple. Flavor is heavy malt (straw, cereal, biscuit), light hops (spicy), and average esters (fruity) with notes of dust, ginger, black pepper, and pineapple. Full body, moderate warmth and carbonation, light creaminess with a dry, alcoholic finish. This would be much better if the sulfur in the aroma was not present; the good news is that no sulfur makes it into the flavor.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 15/20 hawthorne00 (1306) - Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - AUG 8, 2010
Dodgy-looking old bottle with no date. Pours almost clear orange with a frothy white head. high bead. Orange, lemon, clove, white pepper aroma. Orange and sugary sweetness with a little dough and a very dry spicy finish. Alcohol hardly noticeable. Highly carbonated mouthfeel is a bit excessive even for a tripel. Otherwise a very solid beer.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Nena (957) - Seattle, Washington, USA - AUG 2, 2010
UPDATED: AUG 3, 2010 Very pale gold pour with a huge, surging white head. Sharp green apple and brown sugar aroma, plus some spice and honey. Metallic green apple flavor with more brown sugar and spice, bready malts. Strong alcohol presence, especially at warmer temperatures, finishes with a bit of an herbal note. Not terrible, but a little off.
