IMtheOptimator (1126), Bethel, Connecticut, USA Aug 2, 2006 Poured a semi-cloudy golden with lots of bubbles and a semi-fizzy off-white head. Somewhat faint aroma of sweet citrus fruit and dry alcohol. Flavor is dry and fruity, with notes of grapes and oranges with some light hops leading into a fairly dry finish. Light fizzy and refreshing body. Not half bad, but not pronounced enough to stand up against superior tripels.
jrob21 (970), Atlanta, Georgia, USA Jan 5, 2009 Clear golden pour with a long lasting white head. Sweet and spicey aroma. Flavor is full bodied malt with a bunch of lemon citrus flavor. Clove spice and some banana as well. Ok not great. rds (153), USA Jan 4, 2009 Light gold body with a thin near white head, citrus notes. Taste is complex, balanced, not too sweet or citric, very mild, a good trippel. pjweaver (125), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Jan 4, 2009 Trappist on tap
Murky golden color, with a clingy white head. Boozy sweet aroma of fruits, sweet malt, some green tree character. Oaky and boozy on the palate, with an oily warm palate. Nice bitey aftertaste. Monger (500), Roscoe, Illinois, USA Dec 31, 2008 Bottle from a variety pack. Pours a light golden color with a medum head.Aroma of over ripe fruits, spices and light yeast.
Taste is mild citrus, molasses, with a sweet over tone. Nice, mild, easy to drink with a thin body.Smooth finish. Naka (496), Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA Dec 28, 2008 Shared w/ Juart. Pours a slightly hazy golden color. Lots of effervescent carbonation. A small white head that disappears quickly but leaves some nice lacing. Aroma is a pretty heavy malty nose for a tripel. Butterscotch sweetness with just a hint of fruity esters. The flavor is much more like a tripel. Dry and fruity with a little caramel and a nice balance of bitterness. The body is pretty rich with tons of carbonation. Decent. Much better than the dubbel.
