3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 MoritzF (7342) - Bochum, GERMANY - NOV 27, 2005
(bottle) Slightly hazy yellow colour with a frothy white medium head. Strong pear fruity and yeasty aroma. Bitterfruity flavour, medium body, lively carbonation. Sweet malty and fruity taste with yeasts, dry and fruity, a bit vinous (Sherry), light bitter, slightly spicy finish with obvious hints of alcohol. Definitely not uninteresting but a bit strange Triple.

Bottle. Dark gold color with moderate white head that diminished slowly. Moderate aroma of fruit and spice. Medium to full body with a creamy texture. Complex flavor like the aroma with a moderate swwet finish with a small alcohol bite. Average brew for style.

Bottle: Hazy, yellow coloured with a touch of orangey, thin foamy layer; fruity nose (mainly pears and peaches) with traces of alcohol and yeast; intial sweet and fruity taste, mild sweetish flavour; pears, again, in the fruity and a bit tart finish; warming and tasty, quite well hidden alcohol and relatively light bodied for a brew of that strength.
3.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 MesandSim (7109) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - SEP 7, 2005
a sim rate: (On tap at Paradise Beer Weekend, Brussels 2005). Nice, standard tripel. Smells strong, but doesn’t taste too strong. It tastes exactly like a dozen other tripels I’ve tried, so nothing special, but a taste that I quite like.
2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 hopdog (7043) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 12, 2004
Poured a golden color with a large white head. Light aromas and tastes of yeasts, spices and fruits. Watery body. Struck me as weak smelling and tasting - nothing special about this tripel but it was drinkable.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Lubiere (6979) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - DEC 25, 2005
Light golden ale with a thin white silky head. Aroma of pears and coriander. Sweet spiced malt with coriander notes, a rather light triple, without much character. Enjoyed at YEHa!05 Christmas Party on Dec. 17th, 2005.
2.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 JoeMcPhee (6964) - Toronto, ON, Ontario, CANADA - JAN 26, 2007
33 cl bottle. Muddy/dirty yellow colour, fast fading white head. Pretty nasty and limpid looking really. Decent aroma, light Belgian malt, a touch of honey, wheat, and apricot/peach. The fruitiness has an overripened character that seems a bit too close to rotting to be really impressive. Light clove and a touch of mintiness. Flavour are similar with a bit of metallic character. Lightly cidery on the finish. Doesn’t really do it for me.
3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 JorisPPattyn (6725) - Antwerpen, BELGIUM - NOV 6, 2003
Straw gold; lively carbonation to huge & dense white head, creamy in texture. Nose yields chalk, alcohol, but is also flowery, blossom. Dry taste with a strange twist as from Manzanilla sherry (remarkable - never encountered with this before). Palate is sweeter, with the carbonation giving a slight sourish streak. Dryness and alchol paint the mouthfeel treacherously lighter than it is. With the exception of "Bios", the Bornem T. ranks at the top at Van Steenberge IMO - which doesn't say a lot. But this sample exceeded my best hopes.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 MartinT (6340) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - DEC 22, 2003
UPDATED: DEC 18, 2005 Weakly shining citrus fruit and promient pear esters enlightening the slowly burning hay alcohol fire...A bead of honey sweetness flashes intermittently amongst the subdued, big-bubbled blaze...Average quality and dullness for this very light-coloured Duvel wannabe...
