mgermani (596), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada Jan 12, 2008 Pours a slightly hazy pale gold with an immense head. Pungent aroma of spice, apple, and alcohol. Pear & apple in the taste - reminds me of apple cyser, in fact, with the sweetness. Strong alcohol and a warming finish with nary a sign of any hoppy bitterness, just a slight dryness to the finish. Really really overcarbonated, difficult to work out the carbonation when it has such a wild head. Body is light and crisp. The alcohol makes this a real sipping tripel, and the fruitiness is engaging. I like! Perfect for a slow summer evening shared with friends, for you’d really have to work at downing this bottle in a short period of time on your own.
blutt59 (679), Dallas, Texas, USA Aug 27, 2008 bottle, golden color with seafoam head, nose is sweet fruit, flavor of lemon, melon and alcohol, sweetish finish omhper (10456), Stockholm, Sweden Aug 18, 2008 Bottled (as Maerlant Damse Tripel), thanks KimJohansen! Clear golden, minimal head. Aroma of honey and vegetables. Sweet and fruity, boldly malty and overcarbonated. An aggressivevegetable flavour ruins it completely, and it followed up by a harsh resiny bitterness. Defreni (481), Frederiksberg, Denmark Aug 9, 2008 Flaske. Meget parfumeret lys trippel. Kæmpe skumhoved der virkelig er flot. Fin karbonation på trods a dette. Smagen er en kende for parfumeret. legion242 (1520), Richardson, Texas, USA Aug 3, 2008 Big, towering head that faded slowly. Pretty dark yellow color. But a very pedestrian tripel overall. travita (737), Lewisville, Texas, USA Jul 29, 2008 Golden and clear very carbonated with a big white head. Smell is alcohol, banana, bubblegum, and yeast. Taste is weaker and a touch off, yeast and alcohol.
