wilderthanyou (303), Guelph, Ontario, Canada Dec 5, 2007 Pours a pale golden colour with a big froathy head that has very good retention. Aroma is very yeasty with citrusy notes. The flavour reflects the aroma with yeast and citrus being the most dominate, with notes of spice, but thats where the fun ends, the aftertaste of this beer is brutal, it’s a acidic bitter metal taste that completely ruined the whole thing for me. Lucky for me you can get rid of that taste by drinking more beer.
undsioux7 (466), Cologne, Minnesota, USA Jul 25, 2008 Pours yellow/gold with a big fluffy white head. All I can say about this on is meh. Its an off attempt at a trippel. BoBoChamp (323), Gent, Belgium Jul 20, 2008 33cl, from De Hopduvel Gent, not complex, hazy, rocky head, nothing special Shaftie (18), , Florida, USA Jul 13, 2008 Aroma was horrid, I didn’t even get a yeasty smell. Pours a light honey color with good head. A bit more body than the dubel, but still crisp. The finish has more to it as well, somewhat fruity w/ Mild hops. Not quite as refreshing as the other Bornem, attempts to be more complex but fails. Nekronos (1799), Xalapa, Mexico Jul 10, 2008 Very strong in taste and in alcohol, it was very blonde, but also a little boring. Good head which lasts forever and I liked the dizzy sensation, lets you sleep very pleasantly indeed. esjaygee (688), Oak Creek, Wisconsin, USA Jul 7, 2008 Hazy golden yellow with a large white head. Aroma of earthy hops, toasted malts and mild fruit. Taste of fruit, apple, pear, sweet malt with a mild alcohol finish though it generally hides the alcohol well. Speaking of which – it seems to hide everything else well too as it’s a bit devoid of flavor and taste. Perhaps that’s why I found it fairly cheap for a Belgian ale.
