Rating #934, flaske fra en cafe i Budapest. Brun řl med OK skum. Duft af třrret frugt og krydderier. Smag med salt, hvidpeber, blommer og trć. En bitterbesk afslutning og normal tyngde. Mere stćrk belgisk ale end direkte dubbel, men klare gćrnoter og tydelig belgisk inspireret.

Flaška(Diky, Cuso!):Hazy, reddish-amber coloured, small off-white foamy layer, bready-caramelly nose with a delicate bitter background; moderate to solid sweet-bitter flavour, medium bodied, a bit sticky indeed; a drier bitterness follows the fruity and caramelly finish. Not superb, but all in all a nice one…

Bottle, thanks Cuso, small creamy head, very hazy dark brown colour, aroma of cocoa, dark bread and some oxidised notes, suprising smokey flavour with dark chocolate and dark bread, light sourness and quite dry, long light bitter chocolate aftertaste. A touch old but still nice.

Small beige head. Clear deep red body. Earthy chocolatey aroma with dried fruit notes. Sweet earthy chocolate taste with faint acidic background. Mid-bodied. Mild, soft mouthfeel. Dryish earthy apple and caramel aftertaste with resiny notes. Nice, drinkable, interesting. (0.33l bottle at If Cafe, Budapest.)

Dark clear ruby color, small off-white head. Caramel, grassy and alcohol in the nose. Medium-bodied. Caramel, harsh woody twist. Harsh and sweet lager.

(330 ml bottle from Csak a Jó Sör, Budapest)
Dark brown with nice-looking almost-tan head.
Hoppy, slightly sweet aroma with Belgian yeast, some dark grains, and a few prunes in. Promising. (7+)
Full in the mouth, but I can’t pick out so many specific tastes apart from a bit of the dried fruit.
Tastes biggish, and there’s some sweetness to cover the alcohol (it succeeds in this).
Finish has a touch of funky wet sheep in a good way. The finish is where it shines for me.
Well-integrated. I could drink more of this. A tasty sipper.
Unusually, Phil did not share this.

Bottle 330 ml, thanksto MisoW! Poured into a trappist glass, ABV 7.5%. New country tick. Brown colour on the body, with a thin light beige head. Low retention, it leaves foam islands and bubbles clinging on the walls. Aroma of dark fruits, spices, cinammon. Taste has even more spices, cinammon, nutmeg, dark fruits again. Sweet in general. Thin body, carbonation is a bit low. Overall an average beer, a bit unbalanced on the spices, as they come too heavy on the taste.

Thank you Imrich for that one. Strange smoke combined with leather and some smoke in the aroma. Taste is...well, tasteless. Absolute waste of time.

Bottle from Cuso - thank you! The beer pours out deep dark with a low steady head and medium body. Nose of roast and malt. Taste of woods, campfire, leather, smoke and nuts. Lots of smoked hints and in general a very leathery thing. This ain’t a beer I would call Abbey Dubbel, it was too smokey, too unaromatic, too leathery and too flat.

05/08 A 0.33 l bottle from Csak a jo sör, Budapest. It poured lightly hazy brown body with smaller head. Fine aroma, decent wood, caramel, some fruits and yeast. Flavor was lightly sweet, even more bitter, with decent peat and other smoked notes. Medium bodied with fine, a bit nutty and shy caramel finish. Alcohol wasn’t felt at all, only now I realize it’s so high! Expected less since was quite disappointed by their other beers I had in Slovakia last summer, but this is "only a good beer" indeed.
