500 ml can. Budapest, Hungary.
Hazy orange golden colour with small frothy white head.
Citrus, yeast, coriander and wheat in slightly artificial aroma.
Wheat, yeast, mild sweetness and mild bitterness in flavour.
Not that interesting yet not hopeless Witbier.
2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 luttonm (960) - Belgrade, SERBIA - APR 25, 2012
Hazed yellow, meek appearance but a quite full bodied beer. sweet, tart champagne yeast which is lovely. bubbly white head over hazy yellow juice. spritely mouthfeel over wattery notes, not fully rounded example of style. OK for these new macro versions of witbiers
2.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 suprchunk (1059) - Heinsberg, GERMANY - APR 13, 2012
Cloudy lemon colored pour. Big creamy white head that slowly falls and leaves a good bit of lacing. Lemony, wheat, fruity aromas. A slightly wheaty lemon flavor. A little bitter. Not bad.
2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20 Cuso (1766) - Bratislava, SLOVAK REPUBLIC - APR 5, 2012
Bottle from Mosonymagyarovar. Hazy light golden color with medium white head. Aroma of malt, coriander, lemon, earthy hints. Taste, sweet malty, wheat, oranges, green apple, coriander. No bitterness at all. Not so bad as expected, but definitely boring beer.
2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 ogivlado (4444) - Zagreb, CROATIA - MAR 24, 2012
Canned 500ml. -Hazy yellow/orange coloured, medium sized white head, coriander and some acidity in the nose. Strong coriander and mild wheaty taste with light lemony notes. Rather watery finish. Drinkable but one-dimensional.
1.5 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 3/20 Thomasalias (170) - Budapest, HUNGARY - DEC 14, 2011
0,5l bottle from random supermarket, Budapest. Well, this is not the beer what will save the Hungarian beer industry... I expected more... I never hoped, that it will compete with the German hefeweizens, but this beer cannot deserve the "hefewizen" name! I don’t know how many wheat malt they used, but I cannot feel it neither in its taste nor the aroma or the palate. It’s a very interesting beer, but not in the good meaning... It’s not like barley beer and not like wheat beer. I always feel said, when I see that a Hungarian drinks this beer and think that "this is what we call Weissbier", because it’s not. It’s not either a poor imitation.
2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20 Henti (130) - HUNGARY - DEC 4, 2011
UPDATED: DEC 24, 2011 Bottle. This try from Borsodi Brewery has not matched its goals. What disturbes me mostly in this beer, is the presence of corn...
0.5 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 1/20 luxemburger (1) - HUNGARY - NOV 29, 2011 does not count
This is a very bad beer! Terrible! Not like a wheat beer! Bad taste, bad appearence.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20 EithCubes (3337) - GERMANY - OCT 31, 2011
Backlog from 28.06.2011, a can by 18.11.2011. Sweet floral/perfume nose, strange! Hazy golden with a rocky white head. Taste is lightly phenolic, lots of herbs and flowers/floral Duft, light coriander and wheat. Light-medium body , soft and a little warming. Haven’t had one like this in a long time.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 ElDesmadre (472) - Mikołów, POLAND - OCT 7, 2011
Bottle. Hazy golden, quite dark for a witbier, the head is quite frothy but dissipates quickly. Aroma is peach bubblegum and coriander, some grain and soapiness. A sweet-sour smell that makes a somewhat perfumed impression but is not bad. Taste feels a bit castrated, quite watery, malty-coriander, sourish with a slightly cardboardy aftertaste. It tastes amateurish and at the same time macro-ish. And the biggest surprise is that it’s hugely drinkable. Low quality stuff that I would drink again anytime. That does not happen too often.
