Bottle (2002 vintage)... RBSG 07... Cloudy, deep, dark caramel-colored ale with a small, creamy, white head. The aroma is an eddy of caramel, dates, vinous esters and smoky phenols. Sweet port flavor. Boozy, but mellow. Full-bodied and silky with soft carbonation. Bittersweet finish. For a 19% ABV brew, I think the ethanol is well-hidden. Thanks to kp for breaking out this rare bottle for us to try!
