bierkoning (4738), La Tropica, Netherlands Sep 1, 2008 Bottle. Malty aroma with molasses and caramel. Malty sweetish, caramelly flavor. Drinkable, but not really interesting. cgreb (34), Marburg, Germany Aug 12, 2008 bottle - light brown beer with beige head. Some malty aroma. Sweet and malty flavor. Not very bitter. Kutz17 (13), Laramie, WY & Chicagoland, USA Nov 20, 2007 Tap in Hinkelstein of Marburg, Germany- very suprised; never tried a Braunbier; was expecting a maltiness of an Alt. Had a rich, malty taste, yet a very light, crisp body and hoppiness. Nice dark, sweet beer, yet drinkable like a pils. raymondwave (788), Finland Jul 16, 2007 BBE 5/2007. Two months past best before date and I think I can taste it. Dunkel gone a bit stale. There’s some nice hoppiness detectable and slight roast. Very watery overall. Leaves a very funky aftertaste, so I guess not at it’s best anymore. asheft (819), Marburg, Germany Apr 15, 2007 [bottle]
Fruity and toasty malt aroma, sort of like an altbier. Clear chestnut with patchy white island and ring, sort of like an altbier. Nutty and toasty flavour, thougha bit soda watery, with only a touch of bitterness, some watermelon and cinammon notes, sort of like an altbier. Medium to light body, moderate carbonation, and clean finish, sort of like an altbier.
