Bottle: Deep golden to light amber coloured, fluffy off-white head, slowly vanishing; fruit (honey) and caramel in the nose, distinctive traces of alcohol too; sweet caramelly flavour; short sweet fruity and alcoholic finish. Boring, should be better filed under "European Strong Lager", lacks a distinctive hoppiness............................

Quite hoppy aroma with some grainy nutty estery notes, ending with some medicinal qualities. Crystal clear chestnut with some white patches and ring. Very weak cereal grains along with gentle hops flavour, ending with a blend of nutty ethanol and bitterness. Medium body, medium carbonation, slightly warming, fairly smooth with a slightly bitter, nutty finish. Not that memorable, but smooth and nicely balanced.

(bottle) Clear and pale orange to amber colour with a foamy white medium head. Sweet and bready toast-malty aroma with caramel and alcohol. Sweet flavour, medium body and carbonation. Sweet bready and worty taste with a tinge of caramel and a malty finish with traces of hoppy bitterness. One-dimensional (heller) Doppelbock, but quite drinkable. Thanks to pivnizub for the sample.
