COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
During the 1800's, when the sun never set on the British Empire, beer being shipped to the Far East always arrived spoiled. To correct the situation, British brewers added large quantities of hops to their pale ales. (Hops act as a natural preservative in beer). The result is an intensely hoppy amber beer. On cask at the Nashville brewpub. Nice classic IPA. Huge white foamy head from the hand pull left beautiful lacing; amber orange body in the glass was transluscent at best, somewhat hazy. Smells of earthy grapefruit. Flavor was buttered bread and restrained hops that balanced bitterness and acidity well. Not at all overthetop, but well balanced. Very quaffable, but interesting and varied at the same time.

Cloudy rust like in color with almost no lacing. Madium fresh green hop feeling on the nose. Slightly earthy on the palate with a calm and lingering finish. Without being overly abrasive.

Draft. Gold/amber with a thin off white head. Scent is caramel and pine. Taste is pine caramel with a hint of something tart?

Draft at Franklin location. Pours amber with thin off white head. Light piney hops in the nose. Taste of caramel malt and minimal pine notes. More like a APA or ESB. Just Ok. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Tap at Boscos Memphis. Slightly hazy amber orange. Thin oily head. Overwhelming diacetyl ringwood action. Quite a sub par offering. Mild soapy hop character, overwhelming off flavors. Amateur hour, this is pretty disgusting.

Sampled at GABF 2011. Yellowish-orange pour. Faint tangerine and grapefruit rind aroma. Decent citrus hop character but too much malt for my tastes. Drinkable and decent.

Location: Draft at Little Rock Brewpub, 8/23/11

Aroma: The nose has some citrus and pine hops plus some caramel malts
Appearance: The pour is caramel in color with a medium amount of lace
Flavor: The taste is what you would expect, light sweet with a bigger hop profile/bitterness
Palate: The body is light-medium with a slightly metalic mouthfee, fairly easy drinking stuff
Overall Impression: This one had a fairly standard (read: to be expected) hop profile. There was a nice bitterness there, but no complexity. Just call this one an alright IPA that is hardly memorable.

Tap - fair thick head, medium amber color, nice hoppy citrusy flavor, not the storngest IPA around, but good none-the-less

Sample at Nashville beer fest. Orange and caramel aroma. Sweet flavor with decent body. Orange and a touch of bitterness on the finish. Ok ipa but not great and truly memorable.

Draft sampled at Music City Brewers’ Fest. They ran this through a hops infuser of some sort. Poured amber with a medium-sized off-white head. Aroma and flavor were surprisingly subtle for a beer getting an on the spot hops infusion. Aroma was floral and spicy with a nice malt backbone. Flavor was, quite surprisingly, not bitter. Lots of subtle hop flavor, some nice bready malt. Slightly oily palate. The only beer at the beer festival that I went for to get seconds.

on tap at the Little Rock location pours dirty blond with a medium white head. Aroma is strong pine and floral hops. Flavor is awesome. Great balance. Caramel malt and nutty malts are cut by huge pine hope bitterness. A very nice IPA.
