Draught at the Memphis location. Dark brown pour with a thin tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, almonds and faint earthy notes. Medium body with a lasting malt finish. Baffled by the low rating, this was a solid, classic porter.

Not as thick as expected and a nice mix of malt and hops. Went quite well with my burger but would have liked something a bit fuller.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20 Butters (3321) - Richmond, Virginia, USA - APR 28, 2009
On draft at the hillsboro brewery. Clear brown pour with light mahogany highlights and small tan head. Nose of sweet fruit and toasted toffee malts. Flavor is lactic. Lightly roasty, and has a semi floral hop bitterness. Medium creamy medium full body. Not that bad...for a boscos brew.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 illinismitty (2270) - Nashville, Tennessee, USA - MAR 25, 2009
Draft at Boscos Nashville . Pours a translucent brown with a creamy khaki head. Aroma is of chocolate and dark roasted malt, with some mild nuttiness. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Flavor of burnt malts and bitter unsweetened chocolate, countered by an aggressive dry bitterness. Perhaps a little smoke mid palate. This could use a little more sweetness, and was a little too dry for my tastes. A-7 A-4 F-7 P-3 O-13
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 NachlamSie (2345) - Tennessee, USA - MAR 25, 2009

This is a rating for Ed’s Porter which has been listed as an alias. Ed’s Porter is dark, dark brown, not really black at all. The aroma is bittersweet and thick with hints of soy sauce, chocolate, and wood. The palate is thicker than I expected with residual citrusy bitterness. The beer is constantly chewy and bittersweet with just a dash of sweet chocolate here and there. This is highly drinkable. I had a much different (better) experience with this porter. (Total Score 3.6)
