COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Irish brewers traditionally brewed fuller bodied, stronger beers for export to markets outside of Ireland. This stout is representative of that stronger style. Facts: O.G. 1068, I.B.U. 40

On tap at the brewpub. Closer to a brown ale than a stout but still pretty decent. Sweet and creamy malts and a hint of hops.

Pawola22 (3262) - Woodridge, Illinois, USA - AUG 15, 2012
On tap at the brewpub in Little Rock, AR. Pours a mostly clear, deep brown colored body with a finger-width, creamy, tan head that dissipates slowly and leaves a solid lacing. Aroma is slightly sweet, milky chocolates with a light vanilla, roast, and earth along with a light dark chocolate and coffee note. Flavor is similar. Milky chocolates with a nice vanilla sweetness up front before a balancing roast, dark chocolate, and light earth comes in. Finishes smooth and sweet with a balancing, medium-light roast and earthy bitterness that dries cleanly and leaves a lengthy aftertaste. Medium body and a moderate carbonation. Overall, nothing special, but a decent and well balanced stout. One of their better ones.

Location: Draft at Little Rock Brewpub, 6/21/12

Aroma: The nose is roasted malts, chocolate, coffee, toffee, and earth
Appearance: It pours a dark brown-black color with a beige head and light-mid lace
Flavor: Tastes much like the nose, lots of roasted malts, mid sweet, and some light earthy bitterness
Palate: The body is light-medium, it feels a touch watery, and concludes somewhat dry
Overall Impression: This one has a fairly classic stout flavor and nose. Though it is somewhat dry on the finish, the rest feels fairly sweet. It isn’t a bad example of the style, but it isn’t unique or a standout either. This was a solid offering for what will most likely be my last Boscos rating for quite some time.

Tried this on vacation and was actually pretty impressed with this beer. Silky, with some soy sauce, but overall enjoyable for the environment and situation.

A casked version of this at the Nashville location. Sweet and dry. Poours dark opaque brown/black. Beige head. Chocolate and toffee flavors with a rich dry finish. Somehow a little light, but it seems to work.
