COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In German, “hefe” means yeast, “weizen” means wheat. This unfiltered German-style wheat beer is light bodied but full flavored. The strain of yeast used to ferment the beer adds unique flavors perceived as fruity (citrus or banana), cloves, and even bubble gum. O.G. 1046 I.B.U. 10

On tap Nashville. A hazed golden pour. An aroma of corriander and bannana. A crisp flavor of the corriander comes out first then fades to the fruit and finishes with a very light bitter. Another decently carbonated beer with a solid palate all round but just a tad(wee tad) on the light side. Very good for the style no real flaws. I might should have rated it a tad higher. Maybe next time.

Really unfair for me to rate because definitely not my style. After consuming, I couldn’t shake the banana aftertaste. Probably a great example of this style but not to my liking.

upon first glance, this brew looks highly carbonated and it looks a bit like it was frozen in an ice cube then thawed then served in a glass. However, the aroma promised thick vanilla ice cream and banana, wheat and walnutty scents. The flavor is not watered down, as the appearance mistakenly gave off the impression. The vanilla, lemon, cloves, banana, walnut and oak come out in the flavors of this hefe. A very decent interpretation, but could use a little more body.

On draft at the Memphis location. Hazy, almost neon yellow-orange with a small white head. Typical aroma of banana, clove and slight hint of apricot. Tastes the same with the addition of a mild acidity. Medium mouthfeel. A well-rounded hefe in my opinion. I could have done without the huge chunks of orange and lemon that accompained the glass, though.

Draft at Nashville brewpub. Pours a hazy golden orange, no head. Faint hefe ester aroma, but rather tame for the style. The wheat malt and banana flavors are there, but the texture is too thin for my tastes. The finish is like watered down citrus fruit juice. Very drinkable and refreshing, but not outstanding.

Nashville. Opaque grayish taupe-y yellow, almost no foam. Banana, baby powder, and plasticy bandaid phenol aromas. Tastes of water with lemon, flour, paper. Very low carbonation. Watery and pastey in the mouth.

On tap at the Little Rock location. smells like a banana split. like drinking a banana with cloves stuck in it. ridiculously hefe-like. almost cartoon-like in its hefeness. some lacing. hefe people would love this. Of the group, my guess is this is the one beer at Boscos that is most outstanding in its beer category. It is gutsy, in my opinion, to have your lone wheat beer be this one in a world of popsicle flavor wheat beers. This is a loud, bold, hefe.

Draught in Nashville at Boscos. Pours cloudy yellow with a white film and edgy head. Yeast and wheat, banana and clove aroma with citrus hop nose. Sour, sweaty yeast (leather) and light malt (grain) flavor with a lightly acidic citrus hop finish. Light bodied and fizzy.
