CaptBier (234), Birmingham, Alabama, USA May 1, 2008 Bottle conditioned. Nice cloudy light gold color. NO head. I think our bottle was flat and the yeast had died. That being said, it had a light citrus aroma with heavy banana flavor. Notes of lemon and nuts. Would probably be great if the yeast had held up.
KDorgan12 (153), Memphis, Tennessee, USA Jul 22, 2008 Growler-Memphis. LOTS of clove and sweet banana in the flavor. Maybe some cinnamon in the nose as well as clove. This one takes me back to Germany, no doubt. Love this beer! knights97 (43), Tennessee, USA May 25, 2008 had this one on table, very good, light beer, head was white with a golden body with a sweet fruit taste to it, well balanced and one of their better, balanced beers argo0 (6019), Washington DC, USA May 17, 2008 (Savor, draft) Medium off-white head atop cloudy straw body. Aroma is moderately sweet, banana, bubblegum, some cream, light clove. Taste is medium sweet, lemon, some clove, light banana. Watery light body with low carbonation. arjoseph (514), Marshall, Wisconsin, USA Sep 19, 2007 On tap, Nashville brewpub, into a shaker glass (no weizen glasses here, no sir). Pale, hazy yellow like orange juice concentrate mixed with too much water. White head is initially fluffy but diminishes into a very thin dusting with foamy lace creeping up the side (like TLC used to do--Left Eye, RIP). Bubble gum and banana cream on a soft but pungent nose, with a little clove lurking underneath; delicious smelling, but for some reason it seems kind of hollow and artificial (like the best, most realistic movie set piece ever, still with nothing behind it). There is something behind it, though, and it’s rather good. Pretty thick body like a pureed banana was added to the watered down concentrate, and bubble gum additive was thrown in too. The soft banana flavors are clearly dominant, and not really balanced by the yeasty notes competing for attention. I would enjoy more spiciness (clove, corriander, orange peel, whatever) to cut the softness; right now, the only thing cutting it is an initial burst of acidity and fizzy carbonation that dies pretty quickly into soft bubbles.
