charcot25 (181), Cordova, Tennessee, USA Jun 28, 2007 On draft at the Memphis location. A really beautiful beer with a deep amber body and light off-white head. Aroma was very muted to me, but it could have been the food on my table that masked it. Has a deep caramel taste with a fruitiness and slight roasted malt character that was very pleasing. Has ample bitterness in the finish as well. Couldn’t quite name the hops used. Really quite good.
jzzbassman (693), New Albany, Mississippi, USA Jun 8, 2008 On cask at Memphis location, Pours a nice dark tan with a shaving cream head. Nice aroma of nuts, pipe tobacco, and hop. Flavor starts subtly, typical bitter, but finishes with a nice bite worthy of the name. On cask this was much better with the palate, it ups the score for me nearly a full point. I had it earlier in the afternoon on regular draft and later in the evening on cask and it serves it well. SmellGood (299), Memphis, Tennessee, USA Aug 5, 2006 Appeared flat to me but left quite a bite. Made my girlfriend drive me home. BeerandBlues2 (2623), Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA May 17, 2005 Bottle conditioned; bottled 4/9/2005. Pours a cloudy mahagoney tinted caramel brown with a small tan head that likes the side of the glass. Fruity hop aroma with sweet nut notes and raisins on the nose. Initially spicy hop that tingles the tongue. Subtle caramel lightly roasted malt flavors become evident as the beer warms. Warm, full-bodied palate, quite fizzy and dry at the end. Mellow hoppiness on the very end. Chuck, the brewer in Memphis, is right when he says it kicks. Great brew to pick up if you are in the Memphis area.
