COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This American Style brown ale has a more distinct hop character than its English counterparts. The nutty flavor comes from the chocolate and crystal malts used in the recipe.

Clear semi dark amber with a thin spotty white head. Nose is nutty and a bit funky with body odor-and-forehead-grease-on-pajamas sort of aroma. Luckily the flavor features none of that nastiness but had a nice sweet dark malty nuttiness and a touch of chocolate grains. A bit chewy and grainy for its own good, not as "brown" as I feel it should be.

On Tap at Boscos. Redish brown pour. Sticky lacing. Sweet nutty caramel malt aroma. Sweet flavor with just enough hop bite to clean it up. Standard American brown.

Sample at Boscos in Memphis. Pours a nice brown color with small off-white head. Aroma of roasted nuts, caramel, brown sugar, malts, chocolate. Taste is malty with some caramel. A smooth taste. There is some hop character at the end with some bitterness, and the palate is lightly thick. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

1/2 pint at the Brewpub Little Rock (still called Downtown Brown as of this writing) . Pour is brown, all right, with a small stable head and no lacing. It’s well-balanced, with equal parts bitters and malt, and just a little bit "nutty". Not FULL of taste, but an interesting offering nonetheless.

Tap. Light brown with small head. Nutty english brown. Slight caramel. Unremarkable.

Appearance: Served up a bright, clear, amber-brown body topped with an ivory-hued head.

Smell: Credible maltiness with apparent notes of caramel, brown sugar, nuts, toast, as well as darker malty notes of mild-mannered coffee and chocolate. Some faint estery hints, too.

Taste: Goodly malty brew with varied nuts of brown sugar, heavily toasted nuts, lightly caramel, and even some coffee and chocolate. Scantly estery with a low fruitiness. Pinch of herb, lightly bitter. Malty, smooth finish.

Mouthfeel: Medium-light body. Medium carbonation.

Overall: A charming, fittingly malty, English-minded ale.

On tap at the brewpub in Little Rock, AR. Pours a lightly hazed, lighter brown colored body with a thin, frothy, beige head that dissipates quickly and leaves a light lacing. Aroma has a light caramel sweetness, nuts, and some earth. Flavor is similar. Lightly sweetened and toasted caramels up front with some nuts and a light earth in the middle. Finishes somewhat dry and lightly bitter with some roasts coming out and a light caramel sweetness before leaving a medium length aftertaste. Medium body and a moderate carbonation. Overall, a decent brown ale. Some nutty sweet caramels with light toast and roast notes. Easy drinking and decent.

Cloudy dark caramel. Light nose of cereal amd brown sugar. Caramel and nut flavors on a medium-full bodied, well rounded palate. Browns aren’t my favorite, i find them thin often, but this one holds up really well.
