Cloudy dark caramel. Light nose of cereal amd brown sugar. Caramel and nut flavors on a medium-full bodied, well rounded palate. Browns aren’t my favorite, i find them thin often, but this one holds up really well.

(cask-conditioned in Little Rock) Deep brown. Almost no head as expected from cask-conditioning. Nice malt flavor, hint of caramel.

I get a hint of nuts. Smooth with a soft bitterness toward the end. Somewhat creamy mouthfeel. Nicely balanced.

The appearance of this beer is very nice. An off white big head, mostly lasting, on a dark mahogony body. Aroma is distintly malty with a chocolate malt presense in flavor as well. Nicely balanced with hopps and finish is slightly dry. A nice brew.

Sampled at Bosco’s Squared in Memphis. My favorite of the brewpubs offerings. Darker than most Browns and quite well hopped. Nice nut flavors with caramel made for an excellent malt combo and those hops made this one different and delicious.

Draft at Cool Springs location. (Listed as just Brown Ale on the menu but also the 2001 GABF Bronze Medal winner which after searching the GABF records is the Midtown Brown) Brown in the glass with a frothy off-white head that had a thin layer lasting. Sweet malty aroma. The flavor found toasted malts, nut, and hints of cherry. Medium body and sweet.

Amber pour with watery head and lace. Nutty caramel malt aroma. Sour malt, roasty, and nutty with a light earthy hop tinge. A bit thin and fizzy.

A good brown recipe which needs some finishing touches. Aroma and flavor are both long on fruit tart, grassy vegetable and nuts. Chalky body, pasty finish. Undercarbonated, a quick roasted, medium hoppy finish with very mild cocoa. Needs polish.
