Commercial Description:
Alt beer (German style brown ale) brewers in Dusseldorf periodically brew a special beer for their best customers. The availability of these "sticke", or "secret" beers are usually only advertised to regular customers. The code to announce that the "sticke" beer is on tap is simply a picture of a blindfolded beer drinker. Boscos "Sticke" is big and malty with a pronounced unique hop bite from the liberal use of high quality continental hops. O.G. 1068 I.B.U. 40

A dark brown beer. Has little aroma but there is a noticeable herbal, almost minty, German noble hop flavor accompanied by notes of caramel, slight graininess and light roasted character.

In my limited experience with alts, I found this to be quite flavorful and hoppy. Maybe too hoppy for an alt but definitely to my liking.

(Tap) Pours a brown color with a very small tan head. Aroma of hops, grass, and doughy malt. Taste included some light caramel notes and some roasted nut. Moderately bitter finish. Average mouthfeel and palate for the style. I think this is a bit more hoppy than a altbier should be, but I liked it nevertheless.

Pours mahoganey with a thin off-white head. Floral hop aroma. Bitter hop flavor with a caramel malt end. Spotty lacing. Medium to light body.
