2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
On tap at the brewpub in Little Rock, AR. Pours a clear, copper-gold colored body with a finger-width, creamy, off-white head that dissipates slowly and leaves a moderate lacing. Aroma sure as Hell doesn’t smell like 5 X’s. Thin caramels and cardboard with a hint of citrus. Flavor is no better. Thin, watery caramels with some cardboard and a light citrus note. Finishes dry with a light, piney bitterness and watery malt backing. Medium length aftertaste following a thin body and a medium-light carbonation. Overall, I was certainly expecting more when they told me I could pick my hop intensity. This is thin, boring, and really left me, the customer, feeling cheapened.
