On cask, Nashville brewpub, into a pint sometime in 2005 (I just recently found my notes for this, on the back of a coaster under my couch--too much info? Sorry.) A pleasant surprise that I haven’t seen here before. The chocolate is very pronounced on this very creamy beer (due in some part to the effect of the cask toning down carbonation and "warming" the beer). You can smell the cocoa powder, and the beer isn’t as watery as some "stout" offerings from Boscos. Some corny notes in the mostly dry finish must be the "Zwickel" part, along with some dark fruit character in the middle (like thin but strong prunes). Initially large gray-tan head over almost opaque but also very clear dark ruby black.

Floral chocolate aroma. Big fluffy head. Way, way chocolate. Lightly sweet, tastes like a beery latte. Very good, but a little one-diimensional.
