2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
500 mil bottle
Aroma had a light sweetness along with a more dominating grain notes. Yellow body with white creamy fading head. Corn malt with some acidic lemon flavor. Nothing to exiting. Thought alcohol content would of packed more of a punch in this one but didn’t. Dry bitter corn aftertaste. Just another average lager.

1.4 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20
Ouch. The stuff pours a boring flat yellow without head. Smells somewhat malty and corny with slight smoke. More smoke in the flavor along with cedar and toast. These things might sound ok separately but together this stuff is just gross. Thick, syrupy palate with lots of residual sweetness. Blech.

2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
500 ml bottle.
Clear golden with a creamy white head. Thin rings of lace cling to the glass. Looks promising.
Aroma is sweet grain, corn syrup.
Flavor is sugary, with a bit of corn, a little dryness on the finish.
High abv is well hidden.
Not one I would visit again.

1.3 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 4/20
From bad to worse tonight. Light golden color with a diminished white head. Aromas of burnt paper, grits and cheap rice wine. Scorched rice invade the tongue. A woody bitterness takes over slightly. I really cannot continue. Bland with a significant bad overtone.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
The beer evacuates the 500ml brown bottle a brilliant gold color with a presentable head that is white in color and creamy in texture, upon its demise the lace forms a firm, thin sheet of lace to surround the glass. Nose has a grainy sweetness, like fresh cracked corn, fresh and crisp, clean to the senses, start is lightly sweet, with a nice grain presence, top is light to medium in its feel to the palate. Finish has a respectable acidity, the hops detectable, and the 8.1 percent ABV, makes itself known, quite dry, as dry as Arizona, as it hasn’t rained here in 110 days, bodes ill for the fire season that’s just around the corner, anyone know a “Rain Dance”?

1.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
Grainy-Bud-honey aroma, some rice-ness, simple syrup, surprisingly smooth mouthfeel and sweetness but dragged down by light body, vegetal notes, and overall blandness.

1.8 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 6/20
Poured a lighter golden/yellow color with a small sized white head. Aromas of grass and rotten vegetables. Tastes was the same with a light sweet maltiness. Body on the thinner side.

1.6 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 5/20
Ratebeer lists this beer as the only 8.1% beer that BOSS makes. The beer has a similar label to the Black Boss Porter, except it just says "Boss Beer". The label has some red in it and it says the abv is 8.1%. The same beer/label is not on the brewer’s website. The bottle was obtained in Naugatuck, CT and "shared" by me at richlikebeer’s YeHa 05. Aroma is sour, old vegetables, sweet, saur-kraut like. Hideous. Transparent yellow color with a small fizzy white head. Sweet, sticky, sour-ish flavor to start. Finishes bland with more rotten vegetable flavors. Alcohol is well-hidden. Sorry to bring something this shitty to a gathering...
