I donít believe Iíve ever had a strong lager before. Iím a fan of well crafted lagers and this one fits the bill. Some honey in the nose and faint hops. The flavor is hay and honey. More of an amped up lager with a sweet finish. The alcohol wasnít too noticeable but was warming in the end. Would buy again if it was available locally.

The aroma is very skunky, but it doesnít taste nearly as bad as it smells. Not much to recommend here though.

330 ml. bottle. Pours clear gold with a decent white head. Aroma of malt, grain, and skunk. Taste is malt, grain, caramel, skunk, and metal. Very below par.

Beer of the month club December 2013. pours crystal clear yellow gold with almost no head. Aroma is grassy and a bit sour. Taste is extremely sweet with a yeasty bready backbone. I didnít realize that it had some strength to it because it was masked very well. However, its a bit cloyingly sweet. Could use more bittering hops as well as aromatic. Seems unfinished.

Beer of the Month club offering. Pours a light, completely clear, gold with minimal head. Nose smells like a pilsner - mostly malt. Taste is sweet - some honey, and vanilla - but a little too sweet, and it comes across as drinking syrup (not quite as thick). Could use more structure and carbonation. Still, drinkable - but completely average. One thing it has going for it is that you cannot detect the 8.1% alcohol - that is really well hidden. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

7 oct 2013, bottle. Yellow, clear, some steady bubbles. Nose is sickly sweet caramel malt. Med/thin body and moderately fizzy. Toasted caramel, very sweet, some acidic burn. Ok. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Clear golden straw pour with a white head. Oh, what an atrocious aroma. Thereís some mold, spoiled vegetables, corn, and burnt popcorn. Water, onions, and skunk. The flavor is similarly terrible. Overwhelming burnt popcorn/grain flavor. Onions, cooked mixed vegetables, water, and sulfur. Skunky, cheesy, and bitter. Gross.

08-May-07 (500-ml bottle: Purchased 09-Apr-07 for $2.35 at Liquid Solutions in Tigard, OR)
The nose is a rather off-putting: sugar-sweet grains, generic breakfast cereal flakes, cardboard, and stale, unbuttered popcorn, plus a trace of apple cider in the background that never really seems to blow off. Fortunately, these off-aromas are only background annoyances in the flavor unless you breathe freely after swallowing. The sweet graininess is repeated, a sugariness that is cheap tasting and unacceptably sweet. Hop bitterness is non-existent. About the only positive is the pleasant, gentle smokiness that emerges in the evolution and remains well into the finish. 8.1% ABV isnít noticeable. Malt body seems light-medium in range, but the sugar tends to fool the palate into thinking this is a fuller-bodied beer. Medium-golden in color with noticeable haze that is a bit disturbing for a pale-colored lager. Small, whitish head retreats quickly to a wide ring within minutes and fails to leave any lace on the glass. Apart from the light smokiness, this beer isnít especially enjoyable and certainly doesnít speak of quality ingredients.

From the makers of Black Boss Porter comes an 8% alcohol Lager! Brilliant! It took humanity this long to brew a strong Lager? It took the Polish? P.S. Damn, it tastes awful.

Bottle. Pretty bland, some corn, grain. Not a lot of flavor, although I definitely wouldnít guess that itís 8+ percent alcohol
