MoritzF (7342) - Bochum, GERMANY - SEP 28, 2010
(bottle, 6.5% abv, with thanks to Quack-Duck) Clear, golden colour with a blond and short foamy head. Pale malty, slightly grainy aroma with citrus-fruity hops. Moderately sweet flavour, light to medium bodied at most with a soft carbonation. Subtle grainy malty taste with citric hoppy spots; almost slim malty and citric finish. Likeable and much better than expected. 21.IX.10

bottle from eBay. Hazy pale golden yellow, large white head. Grassy hoppy nose. Full-bodied, solid malty base with lots of herbal and grassy hops. Well-balanced and really convincing.

UPDATED: FEB 11, 2011 I type into my phone and translate: "I like fresh beers with great hop bitterness." And he talks to his buddy, and retrieves me this. Best before Oc. 25th, so fairly fresh. Pours slightly dark golden with a frothy head. Flowers in the aroma, fresh pencil shavings, seemingly much lighter than 6.2% A little grass and grain, and maybe sweet corn adjunctification (but not a lot). Light to moderate bitterness. I’m not getting any appleness, thank goodness (had my fill with that Koreb traditional beer). Body is kind of watery. No hint (again) of the alcohol. The key with these beers is that they don’t travel well. Much less of a big oily body - only a touch of firmness like that - than I expect from a Euro Strong Lager although by the ABV I could see classifying it as such.
