Cashews, maple syrup, and pencil shavings on the nose with elderberry accents. Quelle surprise! Hazy rust, thin yellow head. Pencil shavings and maple syrup flavor, nicely balanced. Generic bitter finish. Malt bomb with character.

Savannah, Ga. - Habersham Beverage Warehouse - 12 oz bottle. Pours a sparkling deep dark copper with a lightly lacing off-white head. Aroma has some caramel accents, a touch of toffee and crystal malt. Flavor is bold with some toffee accents, a touch of cinnamon spice, some nutmeg, a touch of sweet nectarines. Mouthfeel is thick enough. Not bad at all.

12oz bottle 7/21/3 (Judicious Spirits)44° in Hurricane Glass-Pours a darl ruby red with a small tan head. Aroma of malt, caramel, and toffee. Taste of the same with a bit of alcohol. This medium bodied brew is not bad as I was expecting more.

9/14/13. 12oz bottle from Exit 18. Dark amber red pour with a nice khaki head that fades and almost laces in rings. Malty aroma, sweet with a touch of chocolate, plenty of caramel and toffee lingering in there. Sweet, sweet flavor, like a caramel candy bar (wish this was dry and on nitro) with toffee and just barely a bitter, roasty aspect if you search for it. Lingers a touch less sweet, but caramel lingers in the flavor. Not bad.

Looks and tastes like an Imperial Irish Red Ale. Clear brown red color. Medium head and body. Slightly sweet with limited hop bitterness.

Location: 12 oz bottle from Colonial Wine and Spirits, 4/24/12

Aroma: This one has malty aroma, with nutty and caramel malts, and some earthy notes
Appearance: It pours an almost clear caramel-reddish color with a thick foam of beige head
Flavor: The taste is medium-plus sweet with a light, but crisp, earthy hop bitterness to it
Palate: The body is medium, it has a rather smooth feel, that’s somewhat creamy and a little crisp
Overall Impression: Wow, only the 3rd rater. I found it interesting that this one only has 2 ratings before me and I can buy it in Arkansas (and I’ve been seeing it there for a couple of weeks now). Anyway, I found it pretty interesting. It isn’t a stand-out, but it’s a solid beer.

Pours a brownish red with a minimal off white head. Aromas of caramel malts and yeast. Tastes slightly bitter on the front end with a metallic finish but some caramel and other malted sweetness sticks to the tongue as well. Alcohol is detectable and it sweetens and gets more nutty as it warms. Not a bad offering, just a bit odd.
