Pours a dark mahogany with a abundant cream colored head. Head shrinks but stays throughout the entire drink. Malty burnt sugar. A little yeast hidden behind the sweet aroma. Very good. Typical yeasty profile you would find in a Trappist. Mixed in with that is the sweetness you got a whiff of earlier. A little bit of caramel, and a little clove. Little bit of the sugar stays around, but the carbonation balances it out quite well. Not too much alcohol heat as it is hidden by the marriage of everything else that makes this beer very well balanced, and good. Only issue is the sugar hanging on to the corners of my mouth, but I can overlook that. Besides the ABV, it is very drinkable. Would be great on a cold winter night. I’ll stock up and drink them this winter, to save my W12’s.

Poured from a 330 ml bottle a murky brown beer with a slight white head, Aroma of caramel, bread, and malt. Flavor is medium bodied and hints of bread and yeast...a very earthy taste. A nice dry finish. A good Belgium beer.

(bottle, 33cl) Almost clear, brown colour with a beige and slowly lacing foamy head. Sweet toast-malty aroma with notes of caramel and rather light fruity notes. Sweet flavour with a tinge of acidity, medium bodied with a calm carbonation. Caramel-malty and toasty taste with underlying berry-fruity notes; moderately sweet and slightly sour-fruity finish. A simple but drinkable ale brewed for a bar in Bastogne, most probably in remembrance of the 101. US Airborne division, who fought there in late 1944 during the German Ardennes offensive. 08.III.10

(Bottled) Very clear, dark red with a small but firm, tanned and lightly lacy head. Aroma is very soapy with berries and hints of acidity. Soapy, sour and acidic flavor with smoky hints - I’m pretty sure this is not what it’s supposed to be. Medium body with slightly sharp acidity and medium carbonation. Quite bad; probably infected, but definitely not very enjoyable.
