JorisPPattyn (4248), Antwerpen, Belgium Feb 26, 2008 Amber-orange with just off-white fluffy head. Very spicy nose, with pepper, nutmeg & hops; slight hint of caramel. Bitter, as in vegetable- & slightly hoppy flavour. Finish is malty-caramel again, just-not-sweet, and peperkoek soft gingerbread. Medium bodied, very lively beer with both titillating and sparkling feel, without getting fizzy. Aftertaste is quite sweet, with even more explicit peperkoek. Another surprisingly good offering from Bouillon. And arguably the best Mary Jane beer sampled so far. diabel (1188), Aarschot, Belgium Jan 25, 2008 Bottle Clear, blond body with a sparkling white rocky head. The aroma is not intense, but some hops and oranges are perceivable. Moderately bitter, lightly sweet flavour. As the aroma, the flavour is not very intense nor complex but it is ok. Not bad. A typical Bouillon beer. JoeinUccle (624), Brussels, Belgium Aug 13, 2007 33 cL from the brewery shop in Bouillon. Cloudy pale gold, decent white head. Very verdant, hoppy aroma. Not much hoppy bitterness in the flavor. alas. Drinks more like a lemon-tinged witbier with herbal notes. Thin and wet but refreshing enough. A decent lawnmower beer, but I think they missed an opportunity by avoiding a hoppier character. But maybe the point was to brew a decent beer with hemp, not a really good beer with hemp and hops. If so, they succeeded I suppose.
