A swarm of flavor and a stinger at 11.5% ABV. The French saison yeast produces big, estery, phenolic aromas and flavors, while the wildflower honey from Madhava Natural Sweeteners in Longmont CO lends a spicy, sweet aroma with essence of dried fruits. Champagne yeast is also used to complete fermentation and create a dry finish, and a strong malt bill imparts a rich, golden honey color to the ale.

Poured a rich honey gold with a white head. Nose is fruity, sweet, a bit funky. Definite presence of floral notes, honey, and a touch of funk. Not nearly as funky as a lot of saisons. The high ABV is quite evident on first taste and following sips. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap at High Street Grill Mt. Holly NJ. Pours a nice amber with a small white head. Very fruity aroma with a bit of sweet malt. The flavor was a bit too fruity for me. I got a lot of peach and some alcohol. A bit sweet for my liking but that said I enjoyed the uniqueness.

Location: 22 oz bottle from Sparrow, 3/23/13

Aroma: The aroma of this one is sweet and yeasty, with some ices, honey, fruit, and malts
Appearance: It pours an unclear reddish-gold color with a small, bubbly beige head
Flavor: The flavor is fairly sweet, there’s some balancing spice, and it finishes just a bit tart
Palate: It has a medium body, a fairly lively carbonation, and pretty mild heat considering
Overall Impression: This is a pretty interesting one. It is quite sweet, but not cloyingly so. I is also quite alcoholic. I actually reminds me a lot of a homebrew experiment that a buddy and I made recently where we (in the simplest terms) added extra honey to a Belgian White base. That one came out sweet and Wheat Wine-like, and this one brings back those memories for me.

Nice golden orange-brown, a lot of bubbles, small light tan head. Ok aroma, honey, grain, banana. Medium full body. Alcohol is well hidden until you get a pleasant warming in the finish. Unfortunately just did not have a lot of flavor, some malt, some sweetness but not much else. Not objectionable but that’s the best I can say.

Bomber bottle, this ale had a burnt orange pour with faint red hues and made a two finger off-white / yellow tinted head that recedes to partial cover and ring, carbonation was light in the glass, just a few small bubbles here and there at the sides of the glass, it left some small spots of lacing on the sides of the glass, there was no sediment in the bottle, this brew had aromas of orange and lemon citrus, fermented fruit, a little malt, faint banana, floral and spice notes, alcohol esters in the background with sugar and fruit sweetness, I thought the nose of this beer was muted until it almost reached room temperature, than, it grew a bit but it was pretty much alcohol fruit and sweetness, it had flavors of orange citrus, apricot and peach fruit, bread, and a little malt, the finish had a very light spice with some sweetness trailing through, the mouth feel was medium or a bit fuller with soft carbonation, carbonation may be a little too soft, more bubbles would help this drink, this beer is not a saison, alcohol fruit and sweetness makes the backbone of the drink.

Pours a clear copper brown from the bottle with bubbly off-white head that dissipates to leave light lacing. Aroma is sweet honey and malt, booze, and a hint of malt. Taste is sweet funky booze, a little harshly sweet. Gets better as it warms, funkiness gets decent, but still a warming boozy burn.

UPDATED: JAN 21, 2014 Sampled on draft at 3R6P this beer poured a caramel-tan color with a medium sized foamy white head that left incredible lacing. The aroma was sweetish honey with chamomile and a light earthy undertone. The flavor was bitey with notes of bread, chamomile, honey, perfume and white zinfandel. Long bread, honey, chamomile and zinfandel finish. Moderately full bodied. Alcohol fairly well hidden. Nice.

On tap at UJs. Golden pour with foamy white head. Smells funky and floral like a sour, but aromas of honey, dough, banana on the tongue. Moderate/high sweetness, low bitterness. Full bodied and dry. Interesting beer. I’m surprised that this has been getting relatively low ratings.
