Draft at Capone’s during PBW 2011. Poured hazy deep gold with white frothy head. Nose was hopcitrus, oaky bourbon, mild vanilla and florals. Fairly rich palate. with a solid citric and floral hop bill matched by an oaky malt base. It all works well, and I;m glad I got the chance to try this; one of those beers you may never see again.

On tap at Capone’s. Mojo IPA aged in a Woodford Reserve barrel. Pours a moderate caramel color with a thin white head and some spotty lacing on the way down. The nose carries a little bit of smooth bourbon along with some strong citrus hops. Good integration. The flavor has a bit of smooth bourbon and some really light heat. Fairly-strong citrus hop profile as well. As it warms, there’s a bit of mild oxidation and slight cardboard that takes away from the bourbon smoothness mixed in with a traditional IPA. Good bitterness in the finish. Another nicely-integrated bourbon hoppy beer, though not quite on the level of the BP Bourbon Tongue Buckler. Serving type: on-tap Reviewed on: 06-12-2011

Lightly hazy, dark golden color with a small, white head that left light lacing on the glass. Aroma of vanilla, floral hops, pine, bourbon, and citrus. Taste of grass, citrus, vanilla, light bourbon, and a little alcohol in the finish.

Tap at Rattle. Pours hazy gold with a bit of foamy white head. Not much bourbon on the aroma. Fruity hops with citrus. Taste is hoppy, fruity, with a light hop bitterness. Hint of booze on the finish. A bit disappointing.

Cloudy golden pour light white head .... aroma is light oak and bourbon with some citrus hops .... light lacing little oaky with some bourbon flavor doesn’t overpower the brew, light caramel malt and also a little citrus and bitter hops ..... a sessionable and easy drinking ipa flavors are light and balanced and abv is hidden well
