3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Ungstrup (23922) - Oamaru, NEW ZEALAND - AUG 13, 2008
Draft at the brewpub. A hazy amber beer with a thin white head. The aroma is sweet matly with notes of caremel as well as light notes of fruit. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of caramel and alcohol, leading to a dry bitter finish. NW and NZ hops and 6.5% ABV in an English Style ale - I don’t get it.

1.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 6/20 omhper (15956) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - JUL 27, 2010
Cask at Blind Tiger, New York, NY. Served luke warm with clear bronze colour. Grapefruity nose. Sweet with clean, rounded mouthfeel and medium body. Vodka and tequila is astonishingly present. Fruity and rough with a bit of resin. At 20-25C it’s not exactly cellar cool, perhaps that’s why it feels so fiercely peppery alcoholic and overall extremely harsh.

Bottle at The Brickskeller, Washington DC Hazy deep blond color. Pungent passion fruit aroma. Medium body, with a good toffee flavor, no sweetness, but quite good resiny and fruity hop. Bitter final, but with less emotions. Less interesting than all the European beers with Nelson Sauvin, but still peasant.

Amber, cloudy, with a loose head. Earthy nose with light citrus. Earthy taste, again with c-hop woodiness. Light, refreshing. Some light toast, caramel. Quite clean, finishing dry. Not bad, definitely not English, but a tasty brew.

Cask gravity at GBBF 2010. Hazy gold, just the hops, just died, some toffee. But hops just killed by the journey. It could be good, but it isn’t
