THOUGHTS: It definitely tasted British, but with an American twist. Pretty nice beer with nice balance.
TECHNiCAL: Bottle. Poured a medium, brownish orange that glowed amber when held to the light with medium-sized body particles of an average density and a small, off-white head that mostly diminished. The aroma was moderate cereal, molasses and carmel malt, moderate flowery hops, light barnyard and earthy yeast, toffee and a little bit of spices. The initial flavor was light to moderately sweet and lightly acid; while the finish was moderate to heavily sweet, lightly acidic and moderately bitter with an average duration. There was caramel and cereal, then some floral and a little metallic hops and some earthiness. The light to medium body was a little dry at the end with kind of soft, but fizzy on the lips carbonation and a moderate astringent and slight metallic finish.

Nov 29, 2008 Orange pour with off white head and lace. Semi sweet aroma of malt and medium evergreen hops. Malty and semi sweet malt with a medium light bitter and an hint of vanilla. Medium bodied a tad fizzy on carbonation. Pretty good beer.

Nov 20, 2008 12oz bottle. Pours clear orange with white head. Aroma is floral hops, citrus and caramel malt. Flavor is hops, citrus, caramel, light fruit, bread and some earthyness. Kind of bland for an IPA, but does match british style. Solid brew.

Nov 18, 2008 Poured a cloudy orange with a white head. Aroma of caramel malt and a little hops. Dry palate with the initial flavors being pretty woodsy and earthy with dominant hops and malt behind all that. Finished hoppy with a dry bitterness that’s well balanced.

Nov 18, 2008 Trade with FlssmrBrewAlum, 12 oz bottle. Nice beery smell when I pop the cap, heavy on malts. Pours a somewhat amber and hazy pale ale color, very little head, but I did pour more slowly down the side than usual. A deep smell has suggestions of an antique pine drawer. Totally silly, but that’s what comes to mind. Taste is a little thick in texture, but not syrupy. One of the few "extreme" pale ales where the malt actually beats down any amped up hop load. Some nutty malt sweetness, a backing of orange, slight show of grass and vanilla. A fine beer overall.

Oct 30, 2008 Hazy moderate with a thin head and some light lacing. Hop scent with a deep malt base. I get a hint of smoke in a woodsy beer with a moderate (for US) hop profile. Hoppier than a UK version.
