Pint on tap. Clear chestnut with a quarter inch of lasting cream. Aroma is cocoa, resin, grapefruit and caramel. Flavors of dark chocolate, dark-toasted walnut, evergreen resin, citrus zest and green herb. Medium body is well balanced, finishes dry with all the hop and acidic roast, and has light-medium carbonation.

Nitro draft to pint. Looks good; settles into a copperish brown with a creamy white nitro head. Smells solid; hoppy and malty. Tastes like it smells with an average mouthfeel (for a nitro beer). Solid.

Draught at City Beer. Rather faint nose of caramel, chocolate, and earth. Pretty orange-amber color. Flavors of caramel, chocolate, earthy, grassy hops, some resin. A nice, balanced and characterful brown.

Pours clear brown with good lacing. Aroma was underwhelming. Maybe citrus hops and biscuit. Taste is surprisingly good. Citrus hops balanced nicely with malts, bread, and Carmel. Dry finish.

Decent ipa. The toasty brown flavor is somewhat lost due to the hops. Excellent for a beer in 6-packs.

Tap (labeled as Flashback IPA) - Good size thick head, dark amber color, nice big earthy hop aroma and flavor, balanced well with some sweet malts - definitely more of an IPA than a brown ale

Bottle. Beer of the month club. Murky dark sienna-brown, some white-ish head. Nutty, slightly wooden, clove, nougat, chocolate aroma, tastes rich and bitter with malty tones. Medium body, lively carbonation, delicate bitter finish. Good.

Sampled at Knoxville Brewfest. Pours brown, with a beige head. Smells like a typical Brown Ale - brown Sugar, caramel. Flavor is pretty typical, as well, but maybe a little hoppy. Dryish finish. Tasty.
