3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
FROM NOTES: July 21, ’12
Poured from a 12 ounce bottle into a pint glass.
A: Definitely a signature dry-dopped smell. Slightly piney, but still that fruity hoppy aroma.
A: Pours a hazy, light amber with a 1/2 finger of head and good lacing.
T: The hops are the star here, and stay in the spotlight, but it’s balanced perfectly by sweet malts for a smooth and non-bitter finish.
P: Medium bodied, medium carbonation and very crisp and smooth.
O: Flavorful and balanced versus the hop-bombs that most APA’s have become. Very drinkable.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Dark amber color with a thick head. Aroma is resin and leather. Lightly bitter. This is a good inexpensive beer, but there is not much to say for it. As a pale ale, it’s unusually maltly, but other than that not very exciting.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle - via Ale in the Mail. Copper color - cloudy. Slightly hoppy aroma. OK. More malty than hoppy and a bit of crystal malt.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
12 0z. bottle. Pours an Amber-orange with generous pillowy off-white head and decent lacing. Aroma is somewhat musty and floral (from yeast?); it’s hard to pick up a hop character. I get a little bit of caramel maltiness. Taste is on sweet side with a metallic note, then some grassy and floral hop flavors come through. The finish has a pleasant herbal note balanced nicely with caramel. Not very much bitterness to speak of. Mouth feel is on light side with average carbonation. I like it as a session ale.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Really nice citrus and floral hop aroma with a perfect little balance of cereal malt in the background. A not-so-vibrant caramel color with a nice white head and proper to low carbonation. Nice hop flavor, but not very resinous, pungent or complex. The low alcohol makes it very drinkable and light on the mouth feel. Great for hot summer days, but if you want hops i would choose something else. Overall, this is good and would definitely drink it in the future (hot summer day).

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle: cloudy orange & yellow & amber, clearly unfiltered. Foamy, soapy white head is slow to recede but doesn’t leave too much lacing behind. Aroma contains some floral hops, light grapefruit peel and citrus flesh with a bit of perfume notes in the background. Orange zest finish. Taste is a little less forward with more mild introductions of citrus, orange, pine, florals, and some perfume notes that are most likely from the Centennial hops. Very, very slight touch of biscuit & cracker malt to balance, but this is a hop-centric brew, no doubt. Good bitterness, manageable. Good beer, better than expected. Nothing too "stand-out" about it, but it’s very drinkable for what it is.
