COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Magic happened this year in Boulder, CO, when local music and local beer came together. In search of the perfectly drinkable, yet flavorful, festival beer, the Boulder Beer brewers and avid homebrewer Kyle Hollingsworth, Keyboardist of the String Cheese Incident, joined creative forces. Imagination and improvisation flowed freely, and Hoopla was born.

Hoopla Pale Ale is dry-hopped with generous amounts of Glacier hops for a fruity, floral hop aroma and flavor that will have your taste buds dancing! Its lively hop character is wonderfully balanced with a crisp, clean finish from the unique blend of US and German grains, making Hoopla the perfect companion to festival season.

“We wanted to make a beer that was hoppy, but still appetizing to non-hop-drinkers and drinkable on hot days at summertime festivals,” Kyle explains about the recipe.

12 oz. can. Orange-copper with a half-inch of rocky meringue. Aroma of evergreen, woody resin, toffee and citrus zest. Taste is earthy tea leaf, resin, orange toffee, mint and woody pith. Light-medium body is balanced with light-medium carbonation and a finish that is well to the dry side.

Not bad. Light body, light mouth feel, mild on the hops. Went pretty well with pizza.

Bottle:   Amber with a golden hue, pale haze, moderate to large foamy sandy head, nice lacing.   Somewhat of a grainy nose, slightly soily but very slight.   Very pale bitterness, its a bit pithy and thats about it.   Not too fresh, falls off somewhat quickly.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   A bit of that soily earthy malty flavor comes out at the end, even moreso as it warms.   Remains mildly Pithy.   Okay example, but pretty average if you ask me.

On tap @ Radio Maria. Light yellow gold body, foamy white head. Lovely hoppy profile with a light soft mouthfeel. Almost a creamsicle quality imparted by the entwining of citrus hops and sweet biscuit malts. Dry bitter end. Nice.

From tasting notes. Bottle. Pours cloudy orange with a medium off-white head. Light bread and grassy hop aromas. Lightly sweet flavor with light bread and citrus and grass hops. Moderately bitter finish. A little light but tasty and refreshing.

12 ounce can at The Brass Tap, drank out of can, flavors and aromas were light hops, light caramel, some pine, mediocre beer.

This pours a mostly clear, red orange color, with a slight light brown head. There is a scent of hops mixed with some sweet malt. The texture is kind of thin but yet it delivers a flavorful sweet grain flavor that finishes with a slightly dry finish with a little smokiness to it. Overall it’s kind of so-so. It’s more of a red lager with a pale ale finish than a full on pale ale.

Tap. Pours hazy orange amber with a medium white head that dissipates slowly with nice lacing. Aroma is floral, pine, caramel, bread. Flavor is about the same, lightly sweet, lightly bitter. Crisp finish. Not bad, but a bit too floral perhaps.

Nitro at the grafton looks creamy with tons of head. Aroma is a bit sharp of roasted malts but not much and I am overly sensitive. Flavor is also creamy and slight roasted ping.
