COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Magic happened this year in Boulder, CO, when local music and local beer came together. In search of the perfectly drinkable, yet flavorful, festival beer, the Boulder Beer brewers and avid homebrewer Kyle Hollingsworth, Keyboardist of the String Cheese Incident, joined creative forces. Imagination and improvisation flowed freely, and Hoopla was born.

Hoopla Pale Ale is dry-hopped with generous amounts of Glacier hops for a fruity, floral hop aroma and flavor that will have your taste buds dancing! Its lively hop character is wonderfully balanced with a crisp, clean finish from the unique blend of US and German grains, making Hoopla the perfect companion to festival season.

“We wanted to make a beer that was hoppy, but still appetizing to non-hop-drinkers and drinkable on hot days at summertime festivals,” Kyle explains about the recipe.

From notes. Nitro tap at Hangar. Pretty solid offering from Boulder. Maybe I’m just not used to the nitro, but it seemed really thin on the palate. Light floral hops and some cereal grains. Very drinkable, but not really that special.

12 oz can from the Fridge, LAncaster, PA. clear gold color, decent hop aroma and flavor. Not bad, but nothing special - I was a bit disappointed.

Draft at NCBC. Pours a clear golden brown with a loose and sudsy white head. Nice sweet piney nose. Creamy medium body with wooly carb. Toast and caramel on the mid palate with nice grapefruit accents and a refreshing piney finish.

On nitrogen at Jerry’s. Amber-gold with creamy white head / Faint nose of sour malt and dry hops / Medium body, creamy, toasty and dry with low fruit, good balance and bitter finish / Flavors of toast and dry hops, with notes of brown sugar and citrus / Distinctly lacking much in the way of fruit, but still a nice balanced, easy drinker.

Sampled on 10/1/2012. This American Pale Ale pours a medium orange gold color from a 12oz can. Medium sized white foamy head with decent retention and nice lacing. The aroma is caramel, fruity and hoppy. A medium bodied American Pale Ale. The malts are fruity and sweet. The hops are citrusy and piney, with a touch of grapefruit. Nice carbonation. The bitterness seems to build in this beer. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is crisp and clean. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

Sampled on draft at 3R6P this beer poured a bright orange-amber color with a large foamy orange-white head that lingered and left no lacing. The aroma was dryish and tart with notes of Windex and grapefruit. The flavor was dry, bitter and tart with notes of Windex, Pez, chalk and rough grapefruit, lemon and perfume. Long bitter and dry finish of grapefruit and perfume. Medium body. Eh.

On tap at Global Brew. Pours a clear pale golden with a decent white head. Grassy aroma. Clean, crisp sweet pale malt taste with just enough hop bitterness. Quite good.

Light.copper with thin white head. Very light but pleasing hop aroma. Flavor is a very light balance between a bit of malt sweetness and a light hop presence. Well balanced and a decent drinkable beer.

A: Pours a really pretty amber color with a frothy creamy cap. Retention is good S: Bright citrusy and resinous hops, caramel, and lots of wheat coming through. Not bad at all T: Eh, not sure if this is a little oxidized as we have sat on this growler for a week...but ther is a big resinous bitterness with some caramel accents MF/D: Prickly carbonation, rough feel, resin finish. Overall, decent

Can. Clear rich orange pour with a clingy white head. Big floral hop aroma. Some citrus in here as well. Good hop bite but very well balanced. I think this one is underrated. Good stuff.
