Killer Peguin from BOULDER BEER COMPANY is "killer" in body. (Or is it peguin fat?) Whatever the body make-up this beer is better than any olí ANGRY BIRD! i will again sample beers from this brewery ..

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a clear orange-red with a small white head. Smells of brown breads, caramel, plums. Taste is sweet and mildly bitter - bready malts, a bit of alcohol burn - rather plain for a barley wine.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Serving: 12 oz. bottle from State Line Liquors. It pours a hazy, deep amber color with a short lived, off white head. The nose has a good bit of alcohol, notes of honey, apple, and perhaps a touch of varnish. Lots of big chewy malts on the tongue. Apple, pear, bread, spice, honey, and a slight bitterness. Sweet, warming finish.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Nice head with strong red amber hue. Scents of raisins and spice. Hints of berry cocoa with a hot spice finish not bad on the boose bill. Smooth on the palate. Numba 2.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Aromas of citrus fruit, cocoa, raisins, and forest earth. Clear red-bronze with a moderately retaining, beige head. Strong, bitter, and slightly sweet, with flavors of nuts, caramel, strawberries, and cherries. Medium bodied, low carbonation, spicy, woody, and finishes with lingering bourbon-like notes.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Rich, dense, warming and sugary, tipping a hat to the great English fore bearers of the style. All dried pit fruits and alcohol here with a bit of a raw edge in the grain profile thatíll leave a stale aftertaste on the tongue. Solid and satisfying beer that fills the need this time of year. Thank you boulder brewing. 2012 22oz.

Bottle. Sweet malty caramel and fruit with a definite hoppy bite. Some different spices show up in the middle as the brew warms. Light alcohol burn at the end.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
Hazy, light brown pour, just a touch of head, but it lasts a long time, almost like little islands. Malty, aroma, with an almost burnt butter sweetness. Sweet malt, alcohol burn, flavor sticks to your tongue a while. Iím still not big on the style I guess.
