3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a clear red-amber with a fair amount of tan head. Fair lacing and good legs. Head didn’t hold all that well though. Aroma is of sweet toffee malts, earthy hops, and a bit of oak-like wood. High carbonation and medium body give it a pretty enjoyable mouthfeel. Taste follows aroma very closely.

I am usually not as big of a fan of barley wines, but this one was a decent experience.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Poured from 2013 bomber. Appearance: medium light tan head that diminishes quickly, amber red, clear. Aroma: light vinegar, leather, herbs, floral, cereal, leaves, spruce. Palate: medium body, oily feel, soft carbonation, bitter finish that lasts. Taste: sweet and tart front, sweet lessens, tartness transitions into bitterness. Overall, very unique, but not what I look for in a barley wine.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Very cool garnet pour w/ a thin tan head that leaves some lacing. Aroma is subtle - soft caramel malt. The taste is dominated by a semisweet malt flavor w/out any bitterness which makes the beer quite smooth while leaving a little to be desired in the flavor department. Pretty good overall tho!

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
From a bottle. Pours murky ruby brown with a bubbly off white head. Tastes very sweet, sugary, like raisins, honey, ash, syrup. Medium body and low/medium carbonation. Smells sweet, ashy, and like brown sugar.
