blipp (724), Grand Island, New York, USA May 17, 2008 Bottle (2006). Pours orange/red with an off white head. Aroma has notes of caramel, toasted bread, cherry and earth. Smooth, medium body. Flavor is odd, I get caramel, toast, brown sugar, dark fruit, earth, and butter. There’s a lot there but it’s all muddled together and doesn’t really come together at all.
IrishBoy (2127), Bakersfield, California, USA Aug 18, 2008 2007 bomber from Uber and Enniskillen! Nose of caramel, fig newtons, and a flowery hop note; hazy rusty brown with a small beige head; flavor is light hop bitterness, brown sugar, and prunes and raisins; finish is slight brown sugar and hop bitterness. Decently good BW! eaglefan538 (2048), Wilmington, Delaware, USA Aug 17, 2008 Bottle from Tops in Tempe, I believe, waxed 2007 version. Pour featured a big but fast fading off-white to amber head. Lacing was weak. The aroma was raisins, caramel, some piney hops. The flavor followed the aroma, big caramel and raisins off the bat, followed by a blend of brown sugar and then piney hops and some faint tea bags in the finish. Big malty beer, but the hops were somewhat balancing with the higher temperatures, which is where I quite enjoyed this one. colemgm8 (370), Alpharetta, Georgia, USA Aug 2, 2008 ’07 bottle. pours a brilliant deep red with a 1 finger off white head. sweet & sugary malt aroma with a touch of caramel. solid medium to full body over the palate. banana up front, sweet and a bit of spice on the sides with the alcohol coming through on the back. strong finish - a bit too hot and ends abruptly. overall not a great BW... decent, worth drinking once... enjoyable, but nothing to really remember about this one.... typical for Boulder Beer Co.... just kind of average. jjuf1853 (200), Land O Lakes, Florida, USA Aug 2, 2008 2007 bottle purchased at Wild Oats (Tampa, FL). Dark brown/copper color with a thin head. Aroma of dried fruit and sugar. Decent flavor. Alcohol is fairly noticeable, but not overpowering. T2Tool (264), Murfreesboro, Tennessee, USA Jul 5, 2008 2007 vintage poured from a 22-oz bottle a dark copper color. Smell of sweet fruit and bread. Taste of caramel, malts and candied sugar with a nice spicy alcohol finish.
