Mo-Jo: 1: A magic spell or charm; magical power; 2. Herbaceous ale that summons hop attacks.

Pale in color but packed with flavor, MoJo reflects the perfect balance of hop bitterness and malt character. The unique Amarillo hop adds a slight citrus flavor to an ultra-crisp dry finish.

A nice orange glow with a slight cloudy hint. Head is minimal but the carbonation is superb. Aroma is sweet citrus, not acrid, with maple and cedar. Amarillo hops rule and are a nice break from the "run of the mill" Cascade. They are a certainly a nice complement and in this malt rich beverage they achieve full potetntial. Flavor is orange, malty and smooth. No acridity even with the elevated hops and relatively high alcohol content. This could easily be one of the smoothest, easy drinking and unique IPA I have encountered. Get yourself some MMMMMojo.

Pours a pretty, clear, copper color that is topped by a thick light tan head. As I pour this I get a wonderful hoppy aroma that has notes of citrus and apricot. Wow, as I go in for a better sniff, the fruity hoppiness is quite pronounced. Mandarin orange dominates but there are notes of tangerine, apricot, grapefruit, and freshly squeezed orange juice. As expected the taste is intensely fruity as well, from start to finish. It does not have as much bitterness as I was expecting, but this beer is all about the hop aroma and flavor. This beer is just a showcase for Amarillo hops, quite intense, and quite tasty. The malt is only here subtly, as a supporting cast, there is just enough sweetness to perk up the fruitiness of the hops, but that is about all I really pick up.

Dark yellow color with a thin head. Looks heavily carbonated. Nice hop aroma with some citrus lacing. Well balanced malt and hop flavor with some citrus notes. The hops are obvious, but it is very well backed up. It doesn’t make you cringe from bitterness.

Small offwhite head, good retention and lace. Robust, nose of grapefruit, lemon, orange, really citrusy with a bit of pineyness also. Hazy light copper color. Medium body, prickly carbonation. Good citrusy hop, strong malt backbone. Well balanced. Medium dry finish. Thanks Indra!

Light Orange. This is probably my twentieth sampling of this beer and each time I am completely awestruck by its aroma. Shocking, fresh, hoppy, fruity aroma of orange, grapefruit, lemon and piney hop oil. In taste, the malts are somewhat biscuity and provide a nice melded variety. The hops are fairly harsh, bitter, slightly unbalanced and gives notes of lemon, grapefruit and pine. Well hidden alcohol. Pretty Tasty.

Big hop aroma, light hazy orange hue. Nice slightly bitter citrus hop flavor. Puts a nice clean bite on the tongue. The bite remains strong in the aftertaste like many suped-up IPA’s. If ypu like the hops the mojo is for you.

UPDATED: JAN 12, 2007 Golden orange and slightly hazy under a tight white enduring head. Nose of pine and grapefruit pleasantly dominates yeilding a clean and fresh aroma. A firm bitterness is quickly perceived followed by a delicious blend of caramel malt, citrus and a herbal hoppiness. A brief wateriness appears mid plate, but is soon forgotten due to a crisp, clean and dry hop-infused finish with a nice little punch of the 7%. Worth every penny of the $6.99 sixer price!

This IPA just hit town and it’s already a hit with me. I like the hop character in this one; it’s got that certain" twang" and the body is pretty heavy for the style. Yum. Best regards, Bill

Orange hue, flat head, sparse bubbles (probably from the 7 day UPS shipping). Nice citrus hoppy aroma; the flavor is grapefruit-tinged with full hop flavors through the midsection, chased by light floral tones. tasty, fully hopped IPA. nice crisp finish. i wish it were available in illinois.
