| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 3, 2009 22 oz. bottle that I received as a gift. Pours a hazy orange gold with a moderate yellow-white head that lasted through the first third of the glass and left very little lace. Aroma of overripe oranges and sweet malt. The flavor is malt up front followed by overripe orange and a bit of weak grapefruit. Strong flavor of alcohol towards the finish. Perhaps this bottle was sitting on the shelf for a while before making its way to me, but this beer was dull and lackluster. omhper (12171), Stockholm, Sweden
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Sep 1, 2009 Bottled at Monk’s Café Wallingatan, Stockholm. Clear deep golden, brief head. Doughy malt comes through already in the aroma. Grapefruity hops compliment it well. Sweet and fruity with full body and pleasantly soft mouthfeel. Strong flavour of toffee, sugar and grapefruit. Powerful but balanced bitterness. ante (2928), Stockholm, Sweden
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 31, 2009 Bottled at Monk’s Café Wallingatan, Stockholm. Pours out in a clear amber colour with a low sticky white foam. Crisp and fresh but still really thick and viscous aroma of flowers, crackers, resin, biscuits and mild fudge. Full-bodied with notes of resin, crackers, flowers, mild grapefruit and dense sweet cookies. A really solid example of the style. Long firm medium-bitter finsih of resin and grapefruit with a firm malt foundation of cookies and fudge. A really nice DIPA with a malt-character to remember. manuchampions (103), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Aug 20, 2009 Perfection! This is a simply exquisite beer. Some of the earlier raters who gave this less than 2 either had a skunked bottle or simply don’t know what they’re talking about. Such a viscous, mouth tingling beer with almost perfect balance between hop and malt. Alcohol well hidden, grapefruit intensity certainly present but not cloying. One of my all time favorites! drowland (1380), Tallahassee, Florida, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 18, 2009 Extremely light in color and lacking the STRONG hop flavor of most double IPAs... it’s very malty. It could be that I got an old/aged bottle and the hops have mellowed. Quite tasty, though!
