Commercial Description:
Only 120 precious barrels were brewed, adding more than half a ton of extra malt and twice the amount of Amarillo hops, so prepare your self for a full sensory explosion. The double dry-hop addition elevates the grapefruit-like aroma and flavor to an outrageous intensity, while the added malt raises the alcohol level from 7% all the way to 10% by volume.

12 oz bottle: Pours a tempting amber and ruby with a thick, sticky head. A nice mix of spicy and citrusy hops meet the nose. A blanket of ethery alcohol warms the hops. The body is sweet, caramel and bread, layered with intense grapefruit, orange and tangerine. Rindy hops take over from there, leading this into a bitter finish. A very well built DIPA - not quite as complex as you would expect from a high ABV brew, but still good.

12oz bottle - pours a nice, clear orange./brown. Citrusy/hoppy aroma - strong but not overpowering. Taste is mostly bitter hops with some grapefruit citrus to it. Not the strongest or most complex DIPA, but good.

This is a well crafted IPA but doesn’t seem like a double to me. This should be what Mojo is. Don’t get me wrong it is a good beer just not as big on hoppyness/flavor as Hopslam or other douple IPAs. It leaves a thick white lacing on the glass and tingles the palate (perhaps that is the "mojo"). Not what I think of when talking about a double IPA, but still good.

Pours a hazy golden orange color. Small soapy head forms at the top with a small white head and excellent lacing. Aroma of hos, grapefruit and pine. Taste of Hops, Bitter Grapefruit, combine with a nice balanced dose of malt give this beer a nice flavor. It’s not too sweet, nor is it too bitter. Thanks Boulder Beer for this one.

Bottle. Tried this a few months ago and wasn’t all that impressed, but this time around I was. Poured a very clear deep amber/reddish color with a nice big head that laced my pint glass nicely. The aroma was solidly hoppy, but with some sweet malt also. Flavor has some caramel malt , lots of hops, and a nice long hop finish. This is a solid IIPA, better than my first experience, but not quite in the elite.

had this with maniac4016. pours orange copper with a one finger light orange fluffy head. aroma is mostly hops with some caramel malt thrown in and some orange peel, pine, and grapefruit. has a medium body with good lacing and carbonation. flavor is the same as aroma but stronger and somewhat resinous hops on the nose and flavor. has a nice dry hop aftertaste and all together not a bad iipa.

Had on draft at Peach’s in Yellow Springs, OH. Mojo Risin’ is a decent double IPA. I had higher hopes, and they were somewhat dashed, but all in all a good beer. Not nearly as complex or even as flavorful as Hopslam and Hercules which Peach’s had recently. I like the intense citrus and bigness of the alcohol, but the overall hop level does not compare to some of my favorite double IPA’s.

Bomber from West Lakeview Liquors, Chicago. Tried next to regular Mojo. A little darker amber color with large, creamy beige head that slowly settles to a tiny pancake like head. Large citrus aroma with resiny pine, slight, very slight, bubblegum, sweet full and well balanced malt. Orange and resiny pine flavor with sweet caramel, very well balanced and very well done, a little perfumy. Medium to full creamy body. Very good and better than the regular version and fresh.
