Commercial Description:
Only 120 precious barrels were brewed, adding more than half a ton of extra malt and twice the amount of Amarillo hops, so prepare your self for a full sensory explosion. The double dry-hop addition elevates the grapefruit-like aroma and flavor to an outrageous intensity, while the added malt raises the alcohol level from 7% all the way to 10% by volume.

Sample @ EBF, 2/2007. Pours a hazy golden color with a nice frothy head. Aroma is largely citric and hops. Taste is the same; this is basically a pumped-up version of Mojo, and while it is nothing special as IIPA’s go it is very good.

hazy yellow, frothy white head, sweet tangerine and pine aroma, lots of sweet citrus flavor, yet another double IPA but just as yummy as all of the others, light bitter finish complements rather than distracts,

Golden body, white head, hoppy nose. Sweet body, citric hops, basically a bigger version of the Mojo.

Poured a deep golden color with a small, white head that left light lacing on the glass. Aroma of floral hops, citrus fruits, orange peel, toffee malts, and some light pine as well. Taste was sweet, caramel malts, citrus fruits, black cherry, grapefruit, and moderate bitterness in the finish, with light alcohol noticed.

Leaves the bottle a slightly hazy deep golden color. Produces an attractive fluffy and durable off white head with great retention throughout the glass. Minimal lacing noted. Aroma is much dominated by the telltale Amarillo hop notes of fresh tangerine, grapefruit, orange peel and a hint of pine. A superb hop variety for west coast IPA’s IMHO. Unfortunatel only a minimal amount of maltiness contributes to the aroma profile. Palate is smooth and velvety but seems slightly thin soon after the swallow. Taste shows off a crisp and firm hoppy bitterness from the start but not well balanced with the malts. Some caramel candy and malt cereal sweetness attempts to sneak through, but barely perceptible. Finish is super long and pleasantly bitter. The 10% alcohol is very well hidden making this an easy drinking IIPA.

draft. This one had an indestructalbe head on it. It lasted forever. Taste.....typical, pretty high quality IPA here. I enjoyed it but it is not one of the very best or unique. Pretty typical of the style.

ours a very slightly hazy deep amber under a tall light beige head. Resiny aroma with a very sweet edge. Cloying sweetness which seems artificial and a high flying hop profile which is mostly out of balance. Average texture and a long, very sweet finish. I’m a hophead and IIPA fan but this one is too fractured and inconsistent for my tastes.

Bottle. Pours gold with a substantial long lasting white head. Some brussels lace stays on the glass. The aroma is hoppy and citrusy with grapefruit, lime and cotton candy. It is very full in body, very smooth, with a little hop bite. The taste is very hoppy, quite sweet and less fruity than the aroma.
