Fair bit of citrus (grapefruit) in the aroma, some caramel and a trace bit of floral notes. Flavor is good bit of caramel malts, with a very nice hop content, some yeast and a dose of piney hops. Dry and bitter. Alcohol is pretty well hidden. Hawksfan17 (717), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 10, 2007 Pours a nice amber with a white head. Citrus hops are most noticable amongst other hop aromas. The flavor is piney with a distinct malt finish that hides the alchohol nicely. redlem (1155), Illinois, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jun 10, 2007 Pours with a substantial off-white rocky head, spiderweb lacing. More of a Cascade hop aroma, I think 3F Gumbalhead has a better representation of an Amarillo hop presence than this. A very weak body, watery. The 10% alcohol not noticable, for whatever that is worth. scraff (1933), Baltimore, Maryland, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 7, 2007 Hazed amber, thin creamy white head. Soft juicy pineapple nose that fades into a piney tangerine tone. Sweet caramel and toffee malt are well noted as the foundation here. Well bittered flavors up front with tangerine and pineapple balancing on a touch of sweet malt. Medium bodied, medium carbonation, super drying, bitter finish. Definitely one for the hop lover to seek out. Nicely done as it got my Mojo risin without a doubt... Headbanger (1582), Aurora, Illinois, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 7, 2007 22oz bomber-A slightly hazy orangish body with an aroma of citrus, grapefruit, and hops. Taste of hops, citrus, and more hops. Nice tasting IIPA. ElGaucho (1730), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 6, 2007 Bomber. Citrus, tangerine and grapefruit, aroma. Some hop, mostly fruity. Hazy orange with a thin, large bubble head. Bottle opening was flimsy; head is a little flat. May be some cap seal issues. Strong, hoppy flavor. Has the elements you like to see in a double IPA, but somehow it doesn’t come together all that well. The whole is less than the sum of it’s parts. Nevertheless, a 35 pctl beer in the double IPA style is still a very good beer, and this is no exception. Rating may be unfairly affected by poor bottle cap seal. | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 6, 2007 From a 22-oz bottle, pours a cloudy orange/amber brew with a thick, lumpy white head. Aroma of grapefruit/citrus, pine, and some lemon juice. Taste is acidic, average carbonation, sweet biscuit malt and lots of piney hops. Finish is bitter and stays around for a while. A very solid IIPA. zach8270 (2085), Henrietta, New York, USA
