COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Only 120 precious barrels were brewed, adding more than half a ton of extra malt and twice the amount of Amarillo hops, so prepare your self for a full sensory explosion. The double dry-hop addition elevates the grapefruit-like aroma and flavor to an outrageous intensity, while the added malt raises the alcohol level from 7% all the way to 10% by volume.

This is certainly not worth the absurd price, but sometimes, in the hinterlands of South Bend, Indiana, you simply crave a different double IPA. Plenty of citrus of every type imaginable, yet not as hoppy as I was hoping. Dig that amarillo.

Bottle, enjoy by JUL 29 2013. Nose is caramel and resinous hops, sweet with dough and some pine. Orange-golden gradient pour with a creamy beige head. Taste is very sweet with light bitterness and even some sharp acidic tang, strong resinous hops with grapefruit and citrus rind, lemon and orange juice. Medium body is nice and juicy, not terribly crisp. Has the heft and import of big alcohol, but doesnít burn or singe. These days, this might pass for average, or even below average, on the IIPA scale, but itís pleasant enough.

Nice transparent copper pour w/ a big tan head that leaves a great ring of la of lacing. The aroma is a bountiful amount of hops. The taste is very well balanced & rather smooth for an IPA at 10%. The citrus & grapefruit hops make this potent beer refreshing! A very solid beer overall!

Bottle share. Clear orange. Nice malt forward aroma with pine and grapefruit. Taste is pretty good malt balance and bitter fruit.

12oz bottle. Pours a slightly hazy deep gold color with a finger of fluffy white head. Aroma of piney hops and sweet malt. Taste of bitter piney hops up front, with citrus notes, and sweet malt towards the end.

Location: 12 oz bottle from Gianomme, 6/21/13

Aroma: The nose has plenty of hops, some grapefruit, floral hops, resin, and a little spice
Appearance: Pours a clear reddish-orange color with a creamy foam of off-white head and heavy lace
Flavor: The flavor is pretty big on the sweetness and it has some fairly strong hop flavor as well
Palate: The body of this one is pretty full, it has a sticky feel, a hint of heat, and a bit of a dry finish
Overall Impression: Iím not sure how this one escaped rating until now, but once I noticed it had, I knew it needed to be ticked. Anyway, this is some good stuff. As Iím finished Season 3 of Thrones, this quote from Tyrion Lannister seemed quite apropos: "Itís not easy being drunk all the time, everyone would do it if it were easy."

Pours golden amber with a medium head. Aroma is citrus, tropical fruits, and light malts. Taste is a little more "piney" than the aroma, but topical fruits are blended in well. A sweetness runs throughout the palate and finish is thick (if that makes any sense) and bitter - the bitterness is a little clingy like a possesive girl. Holds on tight.

Bottle, a very good DIPA. Clean, not overly bitter, with enough alcohol to combat the sweetness.

Pours a slightly hazed golden orange with a thinner off-white head that, when swirled vigorously, produces about a finger or so of creamy head and leaves some tiny spotted lacing. Nose involves quite a bit of citrus and tropical fruit, earth, herbal, pine, honey, biscuits. Pretty sweet, but also quite bitter. Medium bodied, fair action, bright, with a lengthy bitter finish. Pretty tasty, lots of good things here. Wish I would have grabbed one back a few months ago when it was very fresh, but itís still drinking very well right now.

My rate is definitely skewed on this as it was a nitro pour so it added a lightness and fuller mouth-feel. That being said it was god damn creamy fabulousness. Hoppy and dry cascading bubbles let the flavor resonate perfectly. MMMMMMMMM.
