Boulder Beer Mojo Risin

Light bronze colour. Grapefruit, wood, cedar, maybe even ginger. Somewhat thin for the style - maybe the thinnest I’ve had yet. The hop bitterness is mellow but it’s the main component here. Some nice fruity character but lacks the malt to back it up.

(22oz bottle) Medium white head atop clear apple juice body. Aroma is mild, medium sweet, pine grapefruit. Taste is moderately sweet, pine, grapefruit, some caramel. Strong bitterness. Chewy medium-full body, lots of resin, alcohol well masked.

hazy yellow, frothy white head, sweet tangerine and pine aroma, lots of sweet citrus flavor, yet another double IPA but just as yummy as all of the others, light bitter finish complements rather than distracts,

Bottle sampled on 3/8/07: Pours a transparent orange bronze with a nicely-lacing wispy white head. Fresh, piny grapefruity hoppy aroma has some lightly sweet toasty pale maltiness. Body starts with a nice mild sweetness and a very flavorful fresh grapefruity hoppy balance. Smooth, slightly warming finish. A nice IIPA.

Bottle: Clear bronze color, light white head and nice lacing. The nose is fairly hoppy, some pine and grapefruit along with a light spicy maltiness. I don’t know if it’s the citrus lotion I’m wearing, but the smell is super light on this. The flavor is chewy, some toffee and buttery malt notes with a balanced hop flavor. Woody, a bit sweet. Eh.
