Commercial Description:
Only 120 precious barrels were brewed, adding more than half a ton of extra malt and twice the amount of Amarillo hops, so prepare your self for a full sensory explosion. The double dry-hop addition elevates the grapefruit-like aroma and flavor to an outrageous intensity, while the added malt raises the alcohol level from 7% all the way to 10% by volume.

Bottle. Moderate aromas all around, with roasted and caramel for the malt, orange for the hops, broth for the yeast, and hints of date, cherry, toffee and alcohol. Head is average size, between creamy and frothy, white, with good lacing and is mostly diminishing. Color is hazy orange/tan. Flavor starts moderately sweet and lightly aicdic, then finishes moderately bittersweet. Palate is on the fuller side of medium, between oily and creamy, has a soft carbonation and finishes lightly alcholic and dry. On the sweet side, but an excellent DIPA with a smooth drinkability and no bad characteristics.

Nice sweet malt aroma well balanced with the hops. Leans more towards the malt aroma, but still a nice balanced aroma. Nice orange appearance with a SLIGHT brown hue mixed in to give it a darker orange color. Head is nice, but fades away quickly. A nice smooth mouthfeel. I thought I had tried Bittering hop is nice, but doesn’t pack as powerful of a punch as I thought it would. The hops don’t come through as I would like them to, but this beer is still fairly good. A pretty good representation of an Imperial Double IPA. Doesn’t leave that extremely bitter taste in my mouth. Overall, fairly decent beer, but not worth $11 for a 4-pack. Very good mouthfeel.

Pours a clear gold with a lasting ring of foam. Wonderful sweet malt aroma, fruity with light notes of alcohol. Very malty and sweet tasting (fruity - pear?), present alcohol and a nice bitter finish. Slightly undercarbed, but a nice thick body for an IPA. Very sweet and tasty - many thanks to Ughsmash for the trade!

Bomber. Slightly hazy amber with a minimal head. Sweet peach/pineapple/citrus aroma of caramel malt infused with hops. Some soapy pine notes as well. Flavor of lightly sweet caramel malt offset by mostly resiny hops throughout. Finish and aftertaste dominated by grapefruit, pine and resin hops. The malt character and mouthfeel here both seem a bit thin, but even so the hops, while ample, do not throw the balance completely out of whack. OK 2IPA, but not on my go-to-again list.

Bomber. Pours clear burnt orange with small off white head that disapates quickly. Aroma of pine hops. Flavor is pine hops and a little citrus. Not as complex as I would hope. Good IIPA but not great.

Bottle. Orange pour with a white head. Aroma of grassy hops as well as some piney ones...some pale caramel malt as well. Fairly malt in flavor with grassy notes coming through every now and again. Medium body with and earthy bitter finish. I think this is the most average IIPA I’ve ever had.

Thick and creamy off-white head and a coppery orange body. Sweet, hoppy, and fruity aroma. Hoppy taste at the very front of the beer. It is bitter, but rather smooth for a double. Definitely fruity; citrusy I think. Kind of thick bodied. Really drinkable for the style. Not overkill on the hops.

Very average all the way. Lite aroma of bread and yeast. Clear amber with a nice head. Flavor is oddly metallic. Not nearly hoppy enough for an IPA. Nothing special. By the looks of other reviews, I might have gotten a bad bottle. I’ll try to find another and rerate.
