22 oz. bottle, shared with a green eyed lady. Perfumey, citric, toasty malt nose. Light honey orange amber hue. Pale malt presence, sweet enough to balance the bitterness...Alcohol is pretty much well hidden, would never have said 10 hey...Medium-full body, although seeming thin at some points. Grapefruit, conifer resin, herbal hops, through a long lingering finish. Something is lacking in this beer, i just canít put my finger on it...It was strong enough, though, to get me to make an ass of myself in front my my friends...at least after it was followed by several irish car bmbs. take off yer skirt...

If you liked the Mojo IPA, you'll like Mojo Risin' about the same. The same is true if you disliked either of the Mojos.
Unfortunately, I fell into the later category of people who truly disliked this beer.
First and foremost, it's a barley wine, not a DIPA. Perhaps from a brewing perspective, the folks at Boulder would disagree, but from a flavor profile on the consumer's tastes, it's the farthest departure from what I know to be a DIPA.
Also, the finish tastes more like vinegar than beer.
Probably not going to revisit any more offerings from this brewery.

Served on nitro. Golden with lots of creamy white head. Creamyness overrides the nose. Tons of dank pine hoppiness. Texture is a pit wierd due to nitro. Not bad.

This is certainly not worth the absurd price, but sometimes, in the hinterlands of South Bend, Indiana, you simply crave a different double IPA. Plenty of citrus of every type imaginable, yet not as hoppy as I was hoping. Dig that amarillo.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle, enjoy by JUL 29 2013. Nose is caramel and resinous hops, sweet with dough and some pine. Orange-golden gradient pour with a creamy beige head. Taste is very sweet with light bitterness and even some sharp acidic tang, strong resinous hops with grapefruit and citrus rind, lemon and orange juice. Medium body is nice and juicy, not terribly crisp. Has the heft and import of big alcohol, but doesnít burn or singe. These days, this might pass for average, or even below average, on the IIPA scale, but itís pleasant enough.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Nice transparent copper pour w/ a big tan head that leaves a great ring of la of lacing. The aroma is a bountiful amount of hops. The taste is very well balanced & rather smooth for an IPA at 10%. The citrus & grapefruit hops make this potent beer refreshing! A very solid beer overall!

Location: 12 oz bottle from Gianomme, 6/21/13
Aroma: The nose has plenty of hops, some grapefruit, floral hops, resin, and a little spice
Appearance: Pours a clear reddish-orange color with a creamy foam of off-white head and heavy lace
Flavor: The flavor is pretty big on the sweetness and it has some fairly strong hop flavor as well
Palate: The body of this one is pretty full, it has a sticky feel, a hint of heat, and a bit of a dry finish
Iím not sure how this one escaped rating until now, but once I noticed it had, I knew it needed to be ticked. Anyway, this is some good stuff. As Iím finished Season 3 of Thrones, this quote from Tyrion Lannister seemed quite apropos: "Itís not easy being drunk all the time, everyone would do it if it were easy."
