smoosh (523), New Albany, Indiana, USA Mar 31, 2007 Bottle - so many grapefuit hops that it literally puckered my mouth WHEN I SMELLED IT! Deep golden colored with a white head. Plenty of hops in the flavor, but not as puckering as the aroma. Plenty of malt to balance them, I guess. In fact, I’d like it more unbalanced. When I’m drinking a DIPA, I’m not after balance - I want hops! This is a good beer, but not what I expected.
ChristianScheffel (2239), Odense, Denmark Oct 10, 2008 Cloudy golden with a lasting white head. Grapefruit and grass in the aroma, with brady malt and some alcohol. Sweetish malty flavour with lots of hop flavour, heavy alcohol and a very bitter finish. SpringsLicker (1824), Tennessee, USA Oct 6, 2008 Pours slightly cloudy deep orange with a tall, off-white head.
Big citrus pine aroma.
Nicely balanced malt and bitter hops.
One of their better ones. kassner (182), Wexford, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 29, 2008 On tap at Magoos, Blond, clear hop odor, modest head and nice balanced hop flavor. Clean finish GJF (243), Cedar Rapids, Iowa, USA Sep 20, 2008 Tons of grapefruity hops to it with a nice dry finish. The body doesn’t really support all the hops, though. It’s a bit thin for the style. Good double ipa, not great. Mad_Indian (825), Levittown, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 15, 2008 Bottle from Canals. Clear copper/golden color with a medium sized white head. Citrus pine aroma. The flavor is pine right up front with a citrus ending. A little thin but still good.
